| I don't mind her much anymore. I only really found her annoying in the first episode where the show was going out of its way (I mean the deliberate writing of the show) to establish her key character quirks and identity being centered around aversion and opposition to the prospect of dabbling in these more gnarly wild monster improvised dishes. I do hate picky eaters as a concept and on principle, both in fiction and real life, so I'm definitely sympathetic to anyone turned off by that part of her character and personality, especially on the basis of the portrayal originally in episode one. Fortunately either she seems to have mellowed a tad and become accustomed to her new diet or the show itself just isn't placing it center stage and harping on about it. She'll still a complain a bit and offer up some light, effectively token resistance usually at least once an episode, but it doesn't seem as constant and pronounced and as a result, not as grating now and really hasn't since the first episode. And since the premiere she's had flashes of some positive elements too, to balance out any residual annoying factor, such as loyalty as a character trait and showing genuine concern and almost motherly care for the welfare of her party comrades. |
