I sure hope that it's popular because it's ecchi and not because it's yuri. Ecchi is what anime needs more of, not yuri slop.

| 3 episodes in and I already want to buy the manga. But like always, the source is rarely available physically when it's something I found randomly and honestly enjoy. Feels like a blow to the head of those who honestly want to support the series but don't want to buy it or read it digitally. And since I don't own a blu-ray, no buying that either. |

But I've some series get good sales but never get a 2nd season despite being popular. @animegamer245 Why are you trying to downplay the fact it's popular because it's ecchi? Most positive responses is because it's ecchi and not holding back in that regard. It's unique in that it's a rare magic girl ecchi. |

If even after this it still doesn't get a S2, I'll be convinced that no hardcore ecchi anime in this day and age will get a sequel ever, no matter how popular they become and how good the sales are.

| @traed Some anime Blu-ray are sold in 2 episode volumes, iirc, the Wixoss seasons past S1 are like this. So not too surprising. |

| This show should get a season 4, 5 and 6 before these studios waste another yen on boring-ass isekai trash. I can't even imagine who would be watching, say The Unwanted Undead Adventurer over this. And yet there are like 20 trash isekai for each one ecchi anime like this. It's truly idiotic. The market has clearly demonstrated what it wants. Seems like time for another one of those "what we want/what we get" memes. What we want: Magia Magenta in pasties fighting Utena-chan, what we get a walking skeleton moaning about his fate in endless blue caves. Geezus.. there couldn't be a clearer line between wanted vs unwanted, it even says so in the title. |
| Great to hear! I got to say, Utena's VA is amazing. She just nails every line and gives so much personality and likeability to the character. And as someone who usually doesn't watch much Ecchi, I wonder if it's the same in Japan or if Ecchi is just popular there (as you compared it to the Slave anime). Perhaps it's a bit like Spy X Family in the way that it appeals even to people outside of the usual community of the genre. Though kids probably won't (or shouldn't ^^) watch this. |
| The sleeper hit, the dark-horse of this season. Everyone and me were betting on Mato Seihei no Slave that it was going to be the ecchi of the season, and suddenly Utena comes and mogs it really hard. The anime totally deserves it and makes me happy to see it being rewarded this way by the japanese market. Wished Ishuzoku would've got the same luck. |

| @Tropisch seems my reputation precedes me, no need to be jealous thought, I bearly ever visit this site yet some knows what I like already but anyway I left my two cents, I watched the first episode and it wasn't my cup of tea, I just don't see what the big deal is, but then again I'm not a Lolicon or a P*** or a fan of Magical girls in general and yet to find one I can like, Even Magical Girl destroyer had potential and it didn't deliver @Vylci OK LOLIDO or PELOLI, whichever you prefer |

| Anime popularity aside, I'm happy that Utena's VA is getting some recognition. She has great voice and does awesome job in this role. She is a good fit too - whoever found her deserves a raise. |
