Great episode. Lol at the guards who have fun watching a murder scene and then leave a little kid alone in the room. /longsentence

That was a good episode. Crazy how he reenacted the painting, one small mistake of a pen sticking out made all the difference...

Wow I didn't expect the Old man would be the killer. But then again he was the only person thin enough to fit into that suit of armor.

I watched this episode in english dubbed and it was pretty good.

It was going to be nice but how could the old man pick up a grown fat ass man off the ground and then plunge a sword through him all while wearing armor. The leaving the pen and paper there thing felt badly planned. And then he probably still could have gotten off if he wouldn't have admitted to it, all they had was a pen on him.
Of course DNA doesn't mean anything when you're solving a case, probably would have found thousands of hairs from his beard and tons of skin cells if he had been practicing for weeks.

The anime episode came out in '96, and the manga chapter before that, so DNA profiling wasn't so prominent. (Unlike now where every cop/detective show everywhere uses it.)

Just enjoy it. It's amazing.
Pure art. I loved this episode
because I found the reason
for committing this crime
plausible, unlike most of those.

It was a good twist! A good episode. :)
Blacker than a moonless night, hotter and more bitter than hell itself... that is coffee.

I remember this episode was so great rewatching it again. But I didn't remember who was the murderer.

I felt even a little overwhelmed, it was that superb and clever. Amazing episode. By my sleuthing the primary suspect was the old man, too, but the way it was summarized was just spectacular.

Since the beginning I suspected the old man, I’m glad I was right! It is really strange how this anime can show these horrible deaths, it’s a interesting contrast with the the rest of the anime.

That old man wanted to save the museum, that was stupid to close it and to sell the paintings but killing them isn't the solution obviously lol

Back to back amazing episodes. This was one of the most kino and cinematic mysteries ever. I am absolutely loving the growing aura of godliness around Conan. There is an almost divine feel to him that the Murder/Art Director picked up on and it makes me wonder about Conan's actual power level. Could he beat Kira from Death Note?

@Ashhk No the old man 100% did the right thing. Things like that should happen more often. Only bad part was the other employee taking the fall that wasnt nice. But he was evil too! Selling paintings on the black market thats messed up. People who dont respect art and try to destroy it like that really should see their just desserts.

A decent episode, but it was pretty obvious from the start that the old man was the killer.

Another frame murder. Unraveled all because of a pen.
Every time the MC solves a crime I just expect the criminal to be like, “And I would’ve gotten away with it if it weren’t this meddling boy!”
