| It's one of my first 10 watched animes, therefore it will have a special spot in me. I lowered the score from 10 to 9 as I watched more animes and slowly started to learn what's good and bad, what I actually like and what a masterpiece anime should be like. Even though I am sure darling in the franxx does not deserve a 9/10. I'd like to keep the score as near as possible to my original score which was a 10/10 so I can someday look back and say that I liked those animes. Though, I don't change anime scores even though I think back and see how wrongly I scored them in my newbie days anymore. I leave them be so I can remember what I liked in my newbie days and rewatch while feeling like crying as nostalgia hits. I look forward to seeing the anime counter go up to 1000 and beyond as I watch more and more animes. Of course, I also look forward to start actually reading my mangas and LNs I've been stacking up (right now there's only like 20 tbh) in my PTW from animes that I like or that had a bad adaptation, ending, etc. These days not even my hobby that I absolutely loved a few years ago helps me forgot the extreme boredom, so animes are really a important thing for me. How nice. When I see this anime, I remember how 02 used to be my waifu. Now she's replaced, so will her replacement be replaced someday. |

| eh, it was fine. i personally loved it until the last like 3 episodes. i was fine with the space battle thing (i'm just too big of a fan of these sorry-) but it shouldn't have been so rushed. everything in the last 10 episodes was too rushed. the anime should've been way longer if we wanted a full backstory on the aliens, because we don't know shit about them despite the fact that the last battle involved them. the klaxosaurs and their princess should've gotten more attention as well. either the anime should've been longer or the space battle arc started way earlier. i also didn't like the fact that the rest of the cast except zero two and hiro was just forgotten about and put in the sidelines in the last episodes. some of them (like *cough* gorou) had the potential to become genuinely interesting characters. |

| Pretty much as "we" felt, when it aired. Not much to say about it: -Although Fanservice heavy and a bit cheesy it had kinda solid world and -character building, for the first half -Weirdness towards the end threw all that stuff away and ruined it, pretty much -02 has a cool character design |

| It's a 6 or 7/10 until the ending happens. now it's a 4. I love the ending, because it's the worst ending to any show I have ever seen by far. It's so funny. It brings down the score for sure, but I am kinda glad it exists purely for how comically stupid it is. |

So not that great but I can definitely see why some people like it but I also understand why some hate it. It’s kind of a slightly above mid show has great moments but overall not a great structure and other issues holding it back but that’s just my opinion I completely agree with you! The main story follows Sqad 13 (the only team with actual names and unique Franxx), a group of competitive teens (going through puberty, yet completely repressed and naive), lead by the leader Ichigo and her Pilot Gorou, who are friends with Hiro (main male character) who interacts with the genetically engineered clone 02 (main female character), disrupting the groups normal procedures and causing jealously among the characters (in more ways than one), however, it is actually when they learn more information about the past, humanity’s current situation, and their own lives, that this group really grows and changes. |

| One of my earlier animes and I still love it. The romance and action were executed very well and I just love an anime that combines these two genres. Despite the weird ending which I'm fine with, I think newer anime fans would enjoy it still. I would have liked it if the ending was less open-ended, but it didn't take away much for me. Still I wish this show got a much deserved second season, it was incredibly successful and brimming with potential. Let's not forget how amazing the soundtrack and music is. This anime was among the top of its time but now it doesn't get much credit with how much the anime industry has grown and become mainstream with booming new titles. |

| Exactly what you said earlier, I think for the most part it's pretty good. It was one of those things where I wish there was more than the rushed ending it went for. I liked the post-apocalyptic setting, reexploring the once-obsolete ideas back in the day, not these mecha beings that wanted to control the world and some chosen being can make even more stronger mechas. |

I had pity for humanity’s plight on Earth and the choices they made for a false “eternal life”, and like most things humans do, they don’t considers the consequences of their actions, so they destroy their own planet in the process and ruin their one lives, which made me sad and mad at the same time. The fight scenes excited me, the interactions between the characters made me laugh, how they grow and fight for each other as a team made me happy. I loved the relationship between 02 & Hiro, who are very similar in characters — both are intelligent, question the status quo, are fighters and leaders — but it is their past interactions as kids, their forbidden love, and everything getting in their way, that frustrated me because of the misunderstandings and made me want then to be together, bringing me to tears when they finally remember everything, forgive each other, and join as one. I felt bad for ichigo because she loved Hiro and things might have workout if 02 had not met him. I could understand her jealously as a woman (one of my favorite scenes is the Franxx fight between her and zero two when she finally lets her have Hiro) and I also understood her reasons as a leader for why she thought it was best to separate the Hiro & 02, but I also was happy when Gorou (who is a cool guy) finally got the courage to kiss her, I was hopping that would happen the whole anime. Unlike most, I actually understood the ending 3 episodes. It speaks out against the problems with unwatched government and science, how they can deceive humans and lead them into making terrible decisions. It reveals that humanity should have taken care of their planet and made better decisions for their own existence. And they used Hiro & 02 as like the sacrifice for humanity’s resurrection from a dead existence, a “messiah type” of theme, who destroyed the evil that caused all this trouble. And then they implied they that Hiro & 02 were reincarnated later this new history, so they were not gone forever. ( Which could have been an interesting sequel of events for season 2, especially if they have all the characters reincarnate together in this new world as students in the same classroom, and had the two immortal teachers Hachi & Nana be their teachers again in this new life in the future ) |

| I understand that it's mid, and the ending sucked, but I'll always have a soft spot for it. I love its themes of human connection and how it uses mech piloting as a metaphor for teenage sexuality. I connected with Zero Two's desire for humanity a lot, and I really liked seeing her growing relationships with everyone---not just protag-kun. I especially liked seeing her friendships with other girls. And for the record, I did like the leading relationship well enough, and how it started off really unbalanced but slowly they learned how to be equals and it grew healthier. I admit it has a lot of garbage in it, but the themes and metaphors really touched me---even if Evangelion did it 20 years ago and way better. |
