I genuinely think it is one of the best animes I've seen. Everything from the animation, OP, ED, humour, drama, mystery to dialogue, sound design. Just so so good. I think not many people are talking about because Disney bought the rights.
I really hope this gets sequel seasons. I just hope they don't mess up the mystery aspect. Other than that it's already a solid 10 in my book.
What do you think?

I highly agree with everything you've said! This anime has a very unique presentation with whole seamlessly back & forth between the secretive facility & the post-apocalyptic world. As if both are happening at the same time. The mystery is very well crafted & the characters feel multi-layered & more realistic by the episode. I like how the show slowly unravels a mystery by adding subtle clues every episode. The animation is gorgeous same goes to the cinematography & writing. However I do feel worried that I feel like this is the type of anime that will either end up being really good or end up horribly since this show kinda reminds me of Promised Neverland & Wonder Egg Priority..and we know how those ended up..

At first I thought it was going to be another post apocalyptic anime with good animation and decent generic storyline but I'm actually shocked how it has kept my attention. I think they have already unraveled lot of the mysteries and imo till now they did a very good job so fingers crossed :)

I mean it's alright I guess, nothing has really caught my interest, really think it's one of those shows that'll just be forgotten by next season.

I've kind of understood what the premise and backgrounds of the world but yeah I also can't foresee where they'll go from here.

I think I liked this a lot more because I absolutely love the chemistry between two main characters other than that I can also see your point.

from a production standpoint its all good. There is one problem, I don't care. IDK why but my investment in these characters except the main guy in the girls body, is completely lacking.

Made in Abyss Season 2 phenomenon, for me.

Authors weirdness get's in the way of an otherwise perfectly fine story.

I get this, I was pretty confused about some plot points but they’ve been straightened out. I think the reason for this is that for every mystery we see answered, like 3 more mysteries appear at the same time

Its kinda slow. The mystery is there, but I dont feel anything but "ok cool, and?" about the mystery.

Since you like this show, you might also like Summertime Render. It's also a mystery but with action mixed in, with solid animation and music from the composer of Nier Automata

Well, I should agree with you that in a very long time we got to see some peculiar anime with a unique and interesting concept. The characters and their back stories are also inquisitive. The two aspects of this anime makes it more unique with the creatures and its mysteries. This anime is definitely worth watching and a 9/10 on my list.Hoping for it's sequel to get released soon..

Vinland saga, Blue lock, Attack on titan, chainsaw man, oshi no ko... But still, this shows alright so far... just not as good as people are making it out to be. The production is great at least.

it's incredibly well made. i don't know how i'll feel about it by the end of the season, since it seems very hard to me to maintain interest in the narrative and mystery aspects, while also stopping on a satisfying end point, though i really like the dynamics between some of the main cast and would love to get more of this. i hope it's doing well in japan and on disney plus.

stop right there. One word for you; HELL NO!

Like apart from mystery sth like Mob Psycho 100 beats this show in every single aspect you mentioned (probably those you didn't as well) and it's not even in my top 10 anime (it's 11th actually but still).

Yes, OP. I find this show really exciting. And the characters are interesting, especially Kiruko omG she is so cute I don't even care if she was a dude before. 🤤👍

LMAO you really need stuff to be shown to you in flashbacks to be explained? You need to piece everything together, the way the anime handles it, it's pretty damn well explained

I already know that tengoku is the past and the rust adventure is the present wbk from the start. Also know that doctor osamu or whatever and his lover are that bob cut dude and mimihime. And that Maru is Tokio's son.

Well, I will say it's quite handily my favorite series of the year of 2023 so far.

However, I have to qualify that by saying it's not a particularly high bar as I've only seen five other new series this year...
