Based. DVDs over blu rays.
I would buy more Blu-Rays if my computer had a Blu-Ray drive and if VLC actually read Blu-Ray discs with it... but yeah based.

Any more DVD wishlist picks that came up in the past month and haven't shared already?

None because it's going to be a pricey bare bones release. If you're lucky you get some artcards but no extras (Region B blurays experience).

I really miss getting extras and stuff with DVDs. It was fun to get that kind of bonus stuff. Pretty much all of my DVDs I bought more recently didn't come with any though.

Nanoha. I know it got an american release years ago, but those are long out of print. Seasons 1-3 got nice blu-ray released in japan, I'd love for those to get licensed someday.

Aside from that, Mikan Enikki would be great to see. The only versions online aren't of the best quality, so some sort of release that cleans up the footage would be nice.

Many people, when they say DVDs, really mean any video release including Blu-rays and perhaps UHDs (though we haven't seen many of those yet in anime). I buy Blu-rays whenever possible though I've been known to buy DVDs where no Blu-ray is available.

"Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs" has never had an official video release in North America, even though it's been on my want-to-buy list since the show originally aired in 2018. It's sad when a title I'd pay for never gets an official release, and there have been others of those, though I don't recall them offhand. "A Silent Voice" was stuck in licensing limbo for about two years but it eventually got a home video release.

"They Are My Noble Masters" is another personal favorite I'd like to buy if I could but it's never had a Blu-ray release and the DVD edition is long out of print. Some older titles eventually get a retread and a new release ("Dirty Pair" is said to be in the works) but most probably never will.

As for stuff that's available, anything by Aniplex, because prices. I generally have 10-20 titles on my wishlist that I choose from when the sale prices are good, and the best sale prices I've seen on the Aniplex titles are still a lot higher than even the regular prices (much less sale prices) on titles licensed by Funimation, Sentai, or other licensees.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes in order to watch the story in better definition on TV.

Also somebody here mentioned Kamichu!. I'd really appreciate it.

I always believed blu-ray to be a type of DVD. Is that wrong?

I would like to try the original visual novel.

In terms of simply not being able to own, Angel's Egg. It's an absolutely pivotal thing in my life, and it's really weird that I can't buy it.

In terms of just wanting an English translation, probably the original Minky Momo.

Blu-rays and DVDs are two types of discs, but Blu-Rays usually have much more space in them, meaning much higher quality visuals than DVDs.

Gintama. Way too expensive, Black Lagoon as well.

I started off the same way, but at some point I realized DVDs have better box art and I wasn't one to care for quality so I never bothered getting a blu ray player.

I'm trying really hard to find copies of Tsukihime and Love Hina (within my price range), but the problem is, the few copies I did find, weren't shipping to my country. Apart from that, I'm saving up money to buy Air on disc.

Oh, do you not live in America? I would have recommended Robert's Anime Corner Store since they have Air at good price, but idk about shipping rates

Nah, I live in India and I buy my stuff from the UK. I avoid American store fronts because of the shipping rates.
