When's the last time you watched an anime which made you just stop and stare at the screen or lay down and stare at the celing in silence for some time?

I guess World End Harem and School Days.

I would have to stop and go "I cant I have women throwing themselves at me like Makoto and Doi get?"

Life is unfair.

Welcome to the NHK was the one anime that had this effect on me. That show still lingers in my thoughts, especially in the middle of the night.

Oh, there have been some mind-blowing anime moments that have left me staring at the screen or lying on the floor contemplating the meaning of life. One series that comes to mind is Attack on Titan.. The intense and unpredictable plot twists, coupled with the brutal and gut-wrenching moments, had me questioning everything I thought I knew..

Yes, when I watched Fruits Basket for the first time about a month ago. I actually thought about it for at least a week afterwards. It impacted me so much emotionally and I kept replaying everything over in my head and feeling it all over again. It was hard letting go of that world and those emotions.

Happens very rarely since it takes much more than just being good to move me as deeply as that; and the last time I recall having such peculiar reaction was after Tenshi no Tamago, which I've seen more than two years ago already. The credits roll, the movie ended, yet I kept staring at a black screen for a minute or two. Thinking.

Found the thread a while ago to find out who spoiled it for me, and it turned out to be you. I probably should've quoted you then, but it's too late. Didn't want to necro it out of fear that others might accidently read it. Not sure if this even happens at the ending, but...

Dropping untagged LOTGH spoilers on an anime discussion thread of all places has gotta be a crime. Was planning on watching it this summer after finishing all of the other prominent sci-fi and space opera anime only to have this shit happen.

I guess because the anime format is not long enough for me to get attached, Some visual novel have great time length that not too long or sudden and almost guaranteed to have great pacing.

But man that episode
Violet Evergarden hits so hard because how genius their manage to give strong message with episodic format. I will say that episode really have short film quality

School days. One of the classic shakespearan endings in all of anime.

I couldnt believe it but it was so classic.

It shocked me more than breaking bad

Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.

I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was bound to lead me to a slow death.

Last year in the month of July. The anime is Welcome to the NHK. I remember taking a 30-minute break after finishing a particular episode, made my contemplate about my life choices. I still listen to its second ending song from time to time. And yup, it's still giving me the feels. I wasn't able to watch another show for two weeks after completing it.

Hell Girl. That show caused some severe emotional damage, that I actually listened to the ending instead of moving to the next episode.

After Devilman Crybaby and maybe EoE i don't remember any. The closest one to that was probably Sonny Boy and that was 2 years ago. Oh and maybe Monster too but that was on a rewatch.
