Well, damn. Easily one of the best premieres. Spending so much time with Ai made me feel attached to her character. I didn't expect I would feel so sad when she died. I didn't expect I would cry. Ai's monologue after she was stabbed was beautiful.

She was able to finally say "I love you" with all her heart, for the first time in her life. And she said it to her children. Those were her genuine feelings. It's sad that Ai's life had to end that way.

The animation is fantastic, the voice acting is phenomenal and the soundtrack is great. Doga Kobo did a wonderful job. This definitely exceeded my expectations.

Oshi no Ko pretty much have one of the best prologue I have ever seen and seeing it again in the glorious adaptation is just incredible. Doga Kobo adapted this in the best way possible. What a ride.

Also holy sht, this is now highest rated show with just 1 ep? I mean that's really impressive.

I am 24 years old at this current point in time and I have peaked. It is unfortunate, but I have now seen the best thing I will ever see in my life. It’s all downhill from this moment forward.

Wow, I've heard the first episode did justice to the manga but I was still blown away by the production. Everything was adapted perfectly. I didn't think I would cry since I already knew what was going to happen, but damn I still cried hard at the death scene. It was adapted masterfully, and of course the VAs nailed their performances. And Yoasobi did it again! I've been listening to that song ever since it got leaked two days ago nonstop for hours. One of the best premiere episodes of an anime for sure. The character designs are gorgeous too. Really looking forward to the rest of this season! It's gonna be a banger. This show would be better without Kana though.

That 90 mins Prologue is very Overhype with alot of mixs emotions on it.... seriously that ending just turn into a Revenge Plot similar to Redo of Healer except its all about the dark tone of the japanese entertainment, Ai Hoshino is such a precious character despite the fact she gone too early those memories will be always keep forever, she such a best girl... why just why she was gone too soon its too unfair damn it...😭

Anyway i cant to see the next episode, ITS REVENGE TIME!!! 😎

First of all i want to say when i wrote this comment, the Score is at 9.36, beating king of anime "FMB" and at first before i watch it my thought was exactly "WTF no way its THAT good, I CALL CAP, MAL is filled with OShi no ko fans that just want to brag..." and boy i was never THIS WRONG IN THIS LIFE !!.
First of all, The ART is 11/10, its perfectly depict the story, the choice of CUTE art give oxymoron feel to the Dark Story beneath it
Music 8/10 with the exception when Hoshino Ai die, i give it 9/10. Its so perfectly depict the pchsycological effect of traumatized and scared of her kids that i can feel it like i was there
Story 9/10 Its so perfect storytelling i just cant describe it so just watch it
I can wrote so many things but im afraid im gonna mess it up because im so excited. idk when the last time i feel so excited for ANIME like this, SO call me what u want but i think this aniem desrve to be the top list if they can mantain the quality.

An intriguing prologue for sure. The scene with Ai's death had some incredible visuals. Just sad that we probably won't hear much more of Rieri who gave a fantastic performance here.

The baby version of the MC gave me massive Rudeus vibes, and surely enough, they share the same VA.

The score is in no way sustainable but I hope Doga Kobo can keep up some of the momentum. Revenge plot with idol industry shenanigans? I'm in.

I have no words. Absolutely none. Doga Kobo, you have not only outdone yourselves, you have hit it out of this world. The animation hit another level. Have to say as a manga reader, my God was this an experience like no other. The emotion I felt was something you just can't experience from the manga. Wow. Just, wow.

This amazing anime called Oshi no ko, or My star. It's the best anime I've ever watched so I'd recommend it to you since it just came out. It's a combination of mainly realism and supernaturalism however it mixes other genres in certain scenes to somehow create a perfect elixir. It has some really dark themes too and whilst it does have some classic anime qualities like ecchi it isn't for any reason as the story is based around corruption in the entertainment industry so these shots would be from the view of the camera recording not the story. The first episode is around 1.30hrs long btw and also it's so amazing that it might raise your standards much much higher in terms of storyline telling, character building and animation as it far outshines even other animes that are considered good.

Not gonna lie I cried when Ai said that she loves Aqua and Ruby while hugging Aqua in blood. I was really speechless and didn't expect that she would die right away in the first episode. She was really like a storm... T----T

I hope whoever the bastard who got Ai pregnant as well as the mastermind behind her death can die a horrible death.

The OP is nice too. Quiet lively and energetic, true to its title 'Idol'.

I find it weirdly reassuring to see how all the usual pretentious smart alecks (Kimurah, I'm looking at you - or for example Tenka Seiha on the Blog-side, who cast his verdict after watching a third of ep1) are trying to take the show down with their usual nonsense. We'll soon see the invasion of the shonen action extremists to downvote it without having bothered to watch it. The usual. The anime world standard reactions to a big bang.

Personally, I would say that it was a wonderful adaptation of the original material. It had it all - cutesy, sadness, bitter reflections on reality paired with hopeful thoughts, elation and creepy almost-horror were woven together into a potent mix. Everyone's milage may vary, but I feel emotionally attached to the characters, and already knowing the manga, I still couldn't watch the end of the episodes with dry eyes. For me (and based on YouTube reaction videos, not only me), this scene was an unexpected emotional punch very much akin to for example Mami's death in Madoka ep3. Whoever can pull this off so well deserves kudos in my book.

This may not make Oshi no Ko da greatest evah, but it makes it a damn good anime created by a lot of extremely talented people that the vast majority of viewers enjoy tremendously. Great!

Exceeded my every expectation, loved the first episode to bits! It's been so long since I've seen a series with such a strong start, it was really smart of them to make it movie length, I became so much more invested in the characters and story that way. Everything was perfect, from the pacing to the animation to the sound design, I can't think of anything to critique. It's left that big of an impression on me. Phenomenal work from the amazing staff that worked on this project, excellent job!

They stayed true to the manga while making ad-libs in a sense that enhances the every schenes to the best it can be. The art is immacualte and the creepy vibes matches well with everything else. I never thought much of Ai's death while reading the manga, but with proper mood-setting they took it to the best it can be. Trully a masterpiece.

I thought this was the usual 20 minute episode but I guess all the Great Studios this season needs their episode 1 to have a longer runtime to flex their skills

Is this the 2020s anime legacy? Pilot episode should have a longer runtime? I'm all for it!!!! Let's goooo

anyway great episode! a rollercoaster ride for sure. im still thinking about it after i finished the episode hours ago

Everything from the build up to the use of multiple tropes together like idols and reincarnation and a murder mystery in such a complicated and dark way to create tension sets up a lot of hype for the future of this anime. An excellent opener that sets the tone for watchers.

The premise of the mother dying in the prologue is absolutely heartbreaking, but seeing as the son getting revenge for her, is absolutely nerve-tingling!

Can't wait to see the rest of the story, and now I feel a murderous intention towards the father.

But who knows, it might really be the father who is behind it, or is it someone else?
