Very impressive start especially with that animation and direction, I really like the post-apocalyptic settings and how they're teasing that Neverland-like aspect "what's behind the walls"... main duo is also good so far for how they can defend themselves and it's only up to discover what really happened to them and the world.. that ending was also really creepy, can't wait to see what's next

Good start but I'm with mixed feelings. The story about the kids in the school was for me more interesting than the MCs. Who are these kids? Why are they there? What is this place (Heaven?) - it seemed like some shelter, but what is the story there? They also seem to have some interesting abilities. As for the MCs - typical post-apocalyptic pair of travelers..

This anime looks fucking STUNNING and MAGNIFICENT the animation is just eye candy and the story so far is great to me, it’s giving me like The Promised Neverland vibes where they couldn’t leave the wall and the outside world reminds of The Last of Us type vibes with the post apocalyptic city that was showcased to us. I like how they subtle give us hints that the world fell into ruins and is full of monstrosities very cool🔥🔥🔥

And lastly guys guys hear me out ik imma sound like a degenerate horndog butttttt…. KIRUKO IS SO FUCKING FINE MAN SHE PACKING A FATASS AND BIG ASS TIDDIES😭😫😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

It's good. Animation is great.
Nice pair of tits and a good looking ass for the horny teenagers since episode 1, studio sure knows how to get popular. BUT I already saw The promised neverland and Attack on Titan.
This won't work with me.

Interesting. Easy to notice that this is seinen and not shounen. I like it more than similar anime this is compared to (that were based on a shounen source). I wonder if the director of the place were the children were ... is some kind of relative of the girl and the boy traveling. And the kids maybe some clones or something. The one girl that says in her dreams appears another person with a face similar to the boy she talks: Might refer to the girl from the other group traveling.

Maybe the "I am a boy" think that was meant as a joke was to get the viewer's attention ... that she and the boy in that facility ... are related.

Absolute Kino.

Insane post-apo premise, perfect pacing, eandearing animation, already compelling lore established, fucking HANDPAINTED BACKGROUNDS ?!
This is an anomaly, I refuse for this to exist in the modern anime landscape. How do we have 50 isekais and garbage romcoms each season and this managed to happen, it's glorious. Production IG and their offspring of WIT definitely are on another dimension of anime studio, only them can compare to the likes of KyoAni in the pure passion they put in their craft, this is why we have anime "adaptation" to begin with, I haven't read the manga but this is undeniably an improvement over the source material in at least a couple of ways.

3 episode rule ? Mf I gave this a 1 minute rule and it exploded my expectations already, there are entirely painted background that appears for less than TWO SECONDS.

I haven't read entire manga just yet (like 5 or so chapters) but this episode felt extremely rushed.
I personally like quick-paced shows, but here so much happens, you can't enjoy quiet moments, we are constantly jumping from Event A to B to C to D
They changed some stuff. The order in which some events were presented was slightly different; I also got the feeling some stuff might have been omitted. And there were probably 1 or 2 slight changes content-wise. All in all it felt like they are indeed going for a more streamlined/condensed presentation. So, no, it's not just you. Although I wouldn't call it rushed.

For example, Maru's fight at that fence doesn't exist in the manga. Either they wanted a little more action in the anime more early or they wanted to give us that bit of information (him actually being strong af and experienced in fighting) earlier than in the manga (where it takes quite a few more panels before we get there).

Yeah, I read the first few chapters after liking this first episode so much and I realized that they have changed the order of some events and completely omitted others (like a small talk with the gang of robbers before arriving to their nest and some dialogues between kids inside the structure).

Maybe some of these scenes will be adapated later (not the robbers one obviously, that frametime is already gone)

The art style this show is going for is nothing short of gorgeous. The animation only builds off of it, for an immersive, intriguing experience. I've already fallen in love with the characters established, and am excited to see more.

Interesting. I like how we got immersed in the world without any info-dumps but just shown bits of the world in its natural state, however natural it is for different characters introduced.

Really nice first episode. I like the world building done through details (visual, dialogue, etc.), and the introduction of the characters so far was solid. I also thought the production values were quite good from top to bottom. I am looking forward to where this story goes.

Production IG could take this production quality to make any other manga that already was probed, known and without a proper adaptation, instead they go with this seemingly wannabe "Seinen" post-apocaplyptic show that looks like a cheap combination of Eden:It's an endless world and Girl's Last Tour, the traveling couple is a bit stupid for their age and their behavior doesn't fit their environment nor direction that I feel this show wants to go, ofc they meet a gang of quasi-rapists and 5 mins after they act very friendly with them, totally normal writting there. Showing the MC naked was also unnecessary but I guess these kind of shows need that type of scenes to appeal the SIMP's and weirdos, anyways I'll keep watching to see how this develops(there is some hope that this at least can be decent) but I am not too much into it, 3.5/10.

Going off the only trailer that I saw I thought it might not really be my thing, but this first episode has proved me wrong.
Having the story take place within one area then another taking place outside of it could lead to some interesting developments.
I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, and its made me curious to see how they explore the mysteries of this story.

  1. WHAT exactly happened to the outside Real world?
  2. What is that MONSTER and where did he come from?
  3. Who made HEAVEN?
  4. Will we get to see more of story behind Kiruko's Scars?

Lots of questions... 9/10 for the first episode for graphics and story...

- Crappy overhyped typical edgy battle shounen with a hellish name comes out. I sleep

- Postapocaliptic series with a split up cast and a heavenly name pops up. Real shit

Even taking out the really impressive animation during the brawl fights, you can really tell a lot of effort was put on animating Kiru and Mashu's realistic walking sequences. The detail in the backgrounds is also really impressive, everything looks so highly detailed.

This one is really a no brainer to stick with it until the end.

My first impressions were that this anime sinopsis reminds me "Yakusoku no Neverland". The male and female character match up! They could be a great couple. For me, a explication about this world is missing, sometimes I had no idea of what was going on, althought, I think this plot can be pretty awesome!

this was pretty great hopefully it keeps this way  its a very  strange post apocalyptic with a mulit setting

IG had me totally fooled i been so used to Mappa dishing out all these crazy visuals and some of the set pieces /animations looked like some of their staff's works so i was surprised it wasn't them lol

this plot already has me thinking about a lot already dunno if some weird doppelganger  shit is happening as a sub plot

Honestly, this anime just from its 1st episode is beautiful. The whole sheltered thing and promised neverland feel was just impeccable. But the only difference that distinguished this from promised neverland is that Promised Neverland, humans and those monsters were in 2 separated worlds and they were raised to get sent to the monsters. Whereas, here they gotta smoke these monsters packs with whatever arsenal they got.

When I saw the question "Do you want to go outside of outside?" I was just like hold on..don't tell me the outside is an apocalypse and it dead is. I dont know why but I was even discussing it with some friends and I feel like the game gives me a HUGE Last of Us feel to it. Dont any of yall think so? Hopefully they save that lady from the man eating bird thing before it has dinner with her that night. I love that she tried to protect them from the thing even though they said they could kill it and drugged their food to put them to sleep. She's a very good person and she doesn't deserve to die.

I think she should've trusted the kids and let them handle it like they said. But I understand too where shes coming from cause its like their 2 young asf kids..I wouldn't leave monster or I guess man eater slaying to little kids. I'll feel like such a horrible adult letting them lets say handle it like they said they would and died. I would've held that guilt for the rest of my life esp with the symbolism behind them constantly showing that kids room which means her son died to that thing as well most likely and she probably didnt wanna see it happen again with those 2 kids.

All in all, that was a very unique but lovely first episode. Ima give it 2 more episodes before I just end up reading the manga.

Though i dont like much the characters artstyle, everything in this looks super pretty, and the story is so good as well, I'm intrigued! Maru is actually quite cute, I wanna know more about him, I wonder if that girl that was curious about the outside is his sister? Is he looking for her?

Besides that, I wonder if that lady put a drug or something in their food so they would fall asleep fast and not fight that monster(that it's super scary, by the way). Also, what was that part with the girl trying to kiss herself, that was kind of creepy 😭

There goes another hidden gem. This time it's filled with LORE, where the anime takes place in a apocalyptic world where abhorrent monsters lurks. I like how the anime shows us two contrasting point of perspective to the world - one being in a peaceful, safe, high-tech facility, where children learn and play without a care in the world and one which people struggle to survive, trying to appreciate little thing from this hell-scape. (I mean it the end of the world, aren't you suppose to feel helpless, hopeless? Why are you still joking around.) The opening song is absolutely perfect for this kind of anime which give me the "living-on-the-edge" feelings with a glimpse of hope; the same music that is used in the PV, that got me hinged for this anime.

The last few minutes of episode one sparks a multitude of questions - What are those scars on Kiruko's body? Why she is trying to kiss herself? Why does the Inn Aunty (Forgive me if she got a name) look totally shocked with a face written all over with trepidation when Kiruko and Maru mention about the "man-eater"? Why do both main characters fall asleep so quickly as if they were drugged?

There are foreshadowing here and there, little details that will make sense later on. It's really rare for anime companies to adapt this kind of anime, people should appreciate this anime much more other than those generic isekais. I'm really looking forward for the following episodes as well as the answer for the above questions.
