In the following couple months since Chainsaw Man finished airing, something has stood out. This show has lost almost all of its popularity. What I mean is, this show has gained 0 traction in new audience since its first huge wave of viewers on release. In the last couple years, many huge anime managed to continue their popularity in the following months after airing. Jujutsu Kaisen, Spy x Family, AoT, Demon Slayer.... but Chainsaw Man's popularity just stopped growing. It isnt really a surprise since it was an extremely generic adaptation, but to see it practically flat line in viewers is mind boggling. How long until Chainsaw Man is all but forgotten and left in the dust of the other very stand out Fall 2022 shows? It really is a let down that there is almost nothing but negative news to come out of Chainsaw Man, whether its the sales, director, etc and yet its still got an extremely inflated score on MAL. Bots op

Wonder how long your account has before a ban. Got to calm down on the obviously intentional inflammatory topics. Still a troll and idiot may not be technically the same but it's still fun to point out how stupid the argument is. At least for me. Even popular anime like Demon Slayer and JJK weren't able to keep general interest going past the date it ended airing in the West. What seasonal actually maintains interest past the date it ends? Spy x Family isn't doing that either lol. Seriously name me one show that has kept interest going past the air date honestly in the last half decade. It's the nature of media consumption today. True not only in anime but in games, movies, TV Shows etc. Stranger Things stopped being talked about a month after it came out and that show is more popular than most anime out there.

I personally think the two main reasons why this show hasnt retained its fanbasefrom the adaption was from a mostly normie viewerbase and the ending of the anime. Before I get slack for this Viewerbase isnt the fanbase. The fandom are the people who stuck around and discuss the show on online spaces. The viewers are who actually watched the show. Big difference. From someone who watched the CSM Anime the ending was very mid for a show that was meant to be THE Adaptation. unlike other animes it didnt feel like CSM came to its logical conclusion by episode 12. The entire ep12 fight felt insignificant as there werent really any stakes in the fight compared to Floor 8 and the first encounter with the two main baddies. The fact no season 2 has been announced is a massive downside for viewership too. and for an audience of people who dont usually consume anime or manga there doesnt feel like much to talk among circles except for Denji is so cool, I love the action scenes. while we can all agree that the Adaptation of CSM was good. The conclusion doesnt compare to what else we got from anime last season. There isnt much to see from CSM from outside the fanbase. Edit: once a season two or a movie is announced the hype will be rushing back. it wont be dead or forgotten by anybody who watched the first season.

The manga seems to get good traction but this anime literally fell off the face of the planet. I don’t see anything regarding it anywhere anymore. And anyways, the fact the BD numbers were never officially released should be telling of how popular it wasn’t in the end.

Even just here on mal, during it's run the showed picker up about 1mil members, since the season ended it picked up around 170k more members. That's more than most shows ever get, so it seems to me the show is doing just fine. Even the rating remains very high for a show this popular.
