I'm very relieved that Arthur is finally dead. But I think that sadly Ash is going to die, whether it is now or later, the series is heavily foreshadowing this happening sadly :(

Eiji is starting to annoy me. I get it, he wants to be there for his friend, but, at the very least, come up with a way to HELP him, not just be there and.. do nothing but distract him. Being clueless was fine in the first few episodes, but after that, come up with your own role. Right now he's just there to be there. It's true that his existence alone is helping Ash, but that's not something he's consciously doing, the entire time over there he hasn't done shit except for that 1 time where he was just.. taking pictures? I wonder if he ever thought to himself, "what exactly am I doing here".

Hopefully his character gets better over time.

Lmao can you guys chill about Eiji distracting Ash. Eiji almost getting Ash is killed is exactly what Max means when he said he is Ash's Achilles' heel. It's bit more complicated than Eiji holding him back or being a burden or whatever (Ash himself never sees it that way). Ash valuing Eiji is what's gonna kill him. Like cmon, he can distinguish Eiji's voice out of so many other people shouting and making sounds? He could have been distracted by so many other things, but he lost his focus when he heard Eiji. That wouldn't have happened if someone else had called out to him.

I get why there are people mad, but that was supposed to prove a point......

Arthur was hot but always such a dirty-playing coward. Also someone needs to tell Eiji to stop calling out to Ash during dire moments like COME ON......he’s just proving Ash’s point.

Poor Ash, poor Ash..........(;´༎ຶٹ༎ຶ`)

It was necessary to put an end to Frederick, also want to know what was he referring to the main reason he hated Ash.

So sad about how things are going between him and Eiji.

I liked this episode, but as a manga-reader, the entire scene was just excellent in the book!

So sad many people see Eiji as hindrance to Ash... Come on, it's Ash's feelings that impair him, not Eiji. He could have been a tough gang member and still be his Achilles' heel. Having attachments while being at war with so many powerful people is a disadvantage on itself, like with Shorter, it was enough to threaten Nadia to get him. Or attack Jessica to lure out Max. So what? Is it better to not have close connections at all? Yes, it is better and more practical and it is what Ash and ppl like him use to believe. But you can't shut down your heart. You start to understand that it will likely bring your demise but maybe it is worth it. To let yourself experience this kind of relationship, the most strong and pure feelings of connection to another human being even if it distracts you, makes you a less perfect killing machine. That was what Ash had been wondering about--what was the leopard seeking on that mountain, why did it leave his cozy jungle? To die a seemingly pointless death on the heights? He couldn't understand it earlier but probably begins to realize it now. It's like a choice between staying a leopard in the jungle--and getting out to discover what's beyond, even if you may die in the process. The same with Eiji leaving to Japan. How can you really want him to? First, there would be no story. Ash would just avenge the ones he lost, mb bring down Golzine, and then continue on as he'd been but worse, believing only in his strength and never opening up to another person. Survive, exist, but not live. And Eiji was not happy in Japan, he lost his dream, something he'd been pursuing his whole youth, and he had no destination to follow. How could he possibly leave now after all that happened and somehow be ok? Eiji is doing more than enough for Ash. He's doing more than anyone ever did for Ash, actually. He's making him reconnect with his soul, his real self, giving him chance to be a normal boy and enjoy life for once, and even heal in time. And god he deserves it.

Great episode. I am still confused as to why Arthur loathed Ash? Was it due to the finger slashing or just plain jealousy? Either way, I don't understand Arthur's animosity, especially since Ash is just 17.
I thought that the leopard allegory was truly touching, since the connection between Ash and the leopard is evident. Both keep on climbing, past the perils, through the obstacles, like one possessed.

@seafirefly Hi I know you made this post a year ago sorry
even though I've already read the manga, I came here to try and make sense of my frustration at Eiji in this episode, as much as I love him, because it's so painful how right whoever it was that said he's Ash's Achilles's heel is. but you're right, it's not Eiji's fault but Ash's feelings. Eiji can't know or predict how ash will react to him or think that he'd be jeopardising him..
But when I look at the bigger picture I just always wonder what it's supposed to mean. What is the author trying to say with Ash and Eiji's relationship?

What's the message there? It can't be something as basic as divine retribution, but it's not something stupid and toxic like forbidden love, either...your comment made me want to hear your 2 cents.
