| I feel like seinen and shonen are almost interchangeable the majority of the time, but even at that I think a good chunk of anime fans are looking for some light-hearted adventure with a couple of bad ass fights which i what the shonen is jam packed with. |

| Shonen appeals to teenagers and young kids, which in general watch a lot more anime then adults do. Seinen is tough for anyone who's not an adult to watch so it probably won't ever surpass it. |
