I've already read chainsaw man so I've not been prioritizing the anime but WOWWWWWWWW!!!! The animation on this episode was literally immaculate. Can't wait to see some of the better fights

ngl I think you just described Shonen for the most part in general. I never really watch these style of shows for the complex narrative and plotline if you get what I mean. I think this episode was great and I am hoping for more like it.

Same here.. I'm not big into shounen, mostly romance comedies, harem, ecchi, sci-fi, idol anime, fantasy and slice of life but I'm absolutely loving the hell out of both CSM and Akiba Maid War.

Definitely the best episode yet. Most of the issues in the previously faulty episode had been fixed. The pacing is smooth, animation is spectacularly impressive as usual, the flashbacks don't seem tedious and overused anymore, and the psychedelic-trippy ED was great. They finally decided to avoid using royalty free music and butcher the whole thing like they did in ep 1 (except from when Denji comes through the smoke and they started playing a generic shounen fight track) which is great.

Now onto the flaws, the fight was rather interesting but ended up being generic. The "Kuru na!!!" is such a generic dialogue being spouted by every shounen anime villain to ever exist, making things just illogical. I wish they would avoid that. The way the fight started and flowed follows a formula of stakes all over again, which was a pity.

Otherwise, really good episode. 7.7/10.

Continue to lay out the show. I like how it is done. We get to know better how work the world the main character lives in.
I like how he is able to understand Power's feelings toward her cat since he lived something similar.
It's funny how it seems he wasn't able to experience anything in life so now, he's grateful about everything he can do

First episode of the series that I actually loved! Now I'm starting to understand all the hype. This one had some quality character building, amazing action, and great comic relief. Interested in seeing how this affects his partnership with Power next ep.

Sexual stuff is really forced at times and kind of cringe. Also didn't like the comparison of the main character to a dog, and the sexualized version being a puppy. Humor, action and art style looks great. Opening is good

The comedy aspects are unfortunately not as strong in the anime as they were in the manga, at least not in the sub. I wish they went a little more wacky on the voice acting. Other than that, godlike episode.

The show has a level of realism in Denji's apparent mental condition and I find it heartbreaking that people will continue to use that to their advantage in the future. That passes as one of the many aspects of quality writing that this show has.

They managed to perfectly capture the cringe-worthiness of the bat devil. His dub voice + lines were perfect. Him and the zombie devil from the previous ep are so freaking corny (in a good way).
