| I'm still confused why did makima reprimand power for killing sea-cucumber devil? i know the subtitle said it's civilian hunter's devil, but doesn't that means it's harmless? then why did that guy in phone booth at the end of episode 2 reported it? |

| What a mess. Bat Devil ruined the whole street with his abilities. Great episode. Not only because it had very cool looking action sequences, but it also had well directed moments that weren't filled with action, like Power's backstory with cat. In the manga I felt it was mediocre, while anime made it look actually great. I love the director's approach to adapting Chainsaw Man manga. We get not only good looking scenes filled with action, but also really polished more timid, but equally important for overal enjoyment, moments. |
| It's actually surprising how lush the animation looks sometimes, and this episode has some very good examples. The lighting on Power's skin and hair during most of her close-ups is a real sight, just as much as the reflections on her and Makima's eyes during these same sequences. The linework is also very impressive during some of these close-ups, if you pay attention to the tridimensionality of the face angles and the lips while they speak you'll know what I'm talking about. Also, fuzzy surfaces like Meowy or the Bat Devil (even during the action sequences) look really convincing, even for how simple they are. Special mention to Power's messy hair during her flashback sequence, not even that many shots of it but you gotta hand it to how they drew pretty much every single frizzled lock just like in the manga. Attention to detail and sheer dedication to execution is completely off the charts in this series so far. |
| I would probably have never picked this up if it was not for the hype and the fact that everyone, their mother and their grandmother is watching. But I gotta give it something, despite its really weird narrative, the quality of the animation and art direction are superb! |

| Probably one of the most visually pleasing episodes thus far, isn't to say the others weren't. Just a right amount of scenery from the urban city, to the country side house and the CGI action that was fucking narly. Shit can Denji get a breather from getting backstabbed like once? I mean at least this time he had his wits and almost countered power, but man sucks to see it happen again. His character development this episode especially was rlly great, they continue to show his wild motivations and one liners but they work, he can be seen as daft but saw through powers plan and he still holds some morals like protecting civilians. Unknowing yet, but he dosen't seem to completely resent Power for backstabbing him, i think. Since she now shares the same loss as Denji losing Pochita. The story board this ep felt rlly well thought out, integrated Powers backstory with Nyako that helped explained her motif for backstabbing Denji, and some of Denji's backstory to explain his understanding for Power to backstab him since he knows how painful it is to have ur companion missing. |

| Nothing like a CSM fight scene!!! Man that was one awesome fight!!! Denji was so funny even during the fight. My guy was patient, it is what it is. Anyways I can't wait to see the next episode. |
