Idk about others but Ayanokouji can NEVER be my fav character ever. He may be the great protagonist of the series, but no way he's a great 'character'. And yeah, I'm a LN reader and compared to others he's just boring. He doesn't have a great personality. Mostly people like him cuz of his abilities and he's 'cold' and 'emotionless' which isn't a very great reason to like him. I bet most of them are 15yrs old. He's way too overhyped. I'm not saying he's bad, but he's getting overrated. For me he's ok as a character. Just my thoughts, no hate.

I'm curious about the LN because I heard he's way better in it. The anime is good for me but Ayanokoji feels just like a cold and skilled manipulator. I mean, in some circumstances he's very cool, but his character seems to lack in depth (at least in the anime). I thought that I could find something interesting about him and his thoughts in the LN but after reading this I lost all my hopes xD

So…I’ve read quite a few volumes of COTE’s LN and I gotta say this- Ayanokoji is kinda overrated and has no character development whatsoever. He may seem attractive(I’m not talking about looks tho) to the COTE viewers and readers but that’s all.
And tbh I don’t believe he should be in the top 10 fav characters on MAL.

COTE is nowhere as popular as any anime with the top 25 popular characters and tbh I don't think it ever will. Most who favorited Ayanokoji are the readers of the LN which only a few anime watchers have read. I don't think Ayanokoji will ever enter the top 30, let alone top 10 considering how the anime butchered his character.
