Anyone else think the OP is kinda weak? Maybe the first trailer set my expectations too high with that sick track, but this OP was pretty disappointing.

Didn't liked it as first. But the more I watched it, it felt like the manga and the character were literally like their manga counterparts.

Initially wasn't fond of the song when played in the trailer. Saw the opening on Twitter and it blew my mind. I like the Tv version, the build up to che chorus in particular. Mappa nailed it with the visuals

i find it pretty good especially the chorus. i can feel the irony from the song tho? honestly its perfect for how chaisaw man plot story wise.

The song will probably grow on me as I watch the anime, but the visuals were absolutely amazing, and I'm so glad there were a ton of Film References just because Fujimoto is such a Film buff, lol

It was probably his idea xD

Tbh, ED 1 was really good. It may be better than the Opening even. And to keep in mind that many top-tier bands are in the list of the Endings is making it more hype.

Visuals are good,the music is over average.The ed music is nice as well.I dont see the point in asking about music though.
People always had different tougths on sg like art music etc.

for me, the part they put on the trailer is the "worst" (the one i liked less), i didn't expect much because of that but i love the whole op and full song, the intro and final part are perfection, it fits so well

I didn't necessarily love it when I first saw it, but now that I understand everything that is happening in that opening I think is one of the best that I've ever seen props to Shingo Yamashita

It’s literally one of the best openings I’ve ever seen. The animation is incredible, I loved all the film references that pay homage to fujimoto’s love for film, and the song kick back goes is incredible.

i mean, the first time i watched it i was kinda expecting something more strong in the song on the part after makima give the snail to denji (i never heard the song before seeing the op). But now i just loved it.

the op is okay at best. the trailer kinda cherry picked the only best part of it. the ed is lit though

I think the animation was good but it did feel a bit...generic? Like I could see this same OP being in any other series and it would “work”. It felt more like a mv than an OP to a story. If we compare it to JJK S1’s OP, it kinda falls flat. That OP sets the tone of the series really well while also having really good visuals and animation. To me this OP seems to say the anime is lighthearted and you shouldn’t take it seriously, which if I’m being honest I prefer stories with a more series tone but we’ll see.

At first, I didn't like it, as it had nothing to do with the manga. But I heard about the cinematographic references in honor of the author. So, I started to love. If it's slipt cour, I hope the second op is more related to the manga...

It's okayish for me. References to other works is the best part of this opening, but otherwise it just feels like generic montage of scenes from the anime. It even has fanservice with that zoom on power's boobs.

Yes. I was expecting a song from King Gnu or EVE, or any modern j rock band. The song is good, but for a so expected release, it was a bit disappointing.

Love the diverse opinions and clearly I'm in the minority. I was talking about the music not the visuals, but the visuals kinda give away a lot of the story.
