| Eh, pretty bad, ngl. The whole video game parody/reference concept just feels like a lazy gimmick, since they never really do anything smart or funny with it (not in this short series, at least). Take that gimmick away and all you're left with is a super generic fantasy adventure story that takes itself way more seriously than it should. Opal really was pretty hot, though. She's the sole highlight and main reason to bother watching this at all. |
| Well, with only 3 episodes I wasn't expecting a proper conclusion, but introducing a whole lot of characters at the very last 5 minutes left a worst taste in my mouth than I was expecting. Opal was pretty hot and the best part of this anime indeed. |

| They really wanted this to be some kind of semi-serious drama, but it does not work at all. Nothing about this works. Gear (why is he named after the Game Gear?) had to kill his dad to become super strong and save the day. We get a montage of random vague references. The end. Just terrible all around. |
