| When Annie said something like unlike us wall..... Then reiner got a flashback about eren saying I am just like you something so then reiner said “so that's what he meant” ? So what exactly did reiner realise what eren said ? Also what did annie mean by that sentence which I somewhat quoted in my first line ? Thx |

But imo, Reiner wanted to become a hero of marley and save his people from the fear of Pardis Eldians. So, He along with Bertholdt and Annie destroyed the walls of Shiganshina. Similarly, Eren here wants to save his friends and other Eldians, taking all the world's hatred on himself, Just like what Reiner did back then. Thats what he meant "we are alike" Annie asked Mikasa, Jean, Connie and Armin, if they can kill their own friends and comrades, to which they were silent. meaning that They dont have the determination to achieve their goal. Which is why she said "Unlike us, you wouldn't have destroyed the wall" |

| He got the realisation when Annie said the Scouts wouldn't have broken down the walls like they did. Reiner realised that Eren WOULD have broken down the walls if he was in their place, and that's why he felt they were similar. That's what I interpreted anyway. |
| nah, I think what he was realizing is that is what Erin told jim, wasn't it? Erin said to him, "we're the same", so what Erin is doing is exactly what Reiner and Annie did. Sacrificing their own morality and human standards for something that their perceive to be a sacrifice for their own salvation as well as their people's salvation |
