| THIS IS A LIGHT NOVEL ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS VOLUME. ---------------------------------------- Volume 5 will be released on 1 June. Alright, one more day HigeHiro will be finished, several book sites have released trial reading. I've read some of volume 5 and yeah, it's still not clear. The reading trial ended when they were about to get ready to go to Hokkaido, so according to the trial it was still unclear who is Sayu's mom. As you all know, volume 4 has been explained that Sayu's mother Was divorce to Sayu's dad because Sayu's dad cheating on her. Although previously he still had time to comes home to have sex with Sayu's mom. The 5th volume has 13 chapters, so it will probably be short, and only 200 pages long (possibly) Discussing HigeHiro is indeed interesting because after all, this is the best ongoing light novel in my opinion. Alright, let's have discuss about Volume 5... If you look carefully, the illustration in volume 5 shows Sayu's time skip when she was an adult, Did you notice that there is a ring used on Sayu's little finger? As you can see, Will Sayu marry Yoshida? In my opinion, as well as some Facebook communities, the wedding ring is used on ring finger (how i called it fk english is so hard), Whereas in the illustration Sayu wears the ring on her little finger. It's so interesting, really, I'm curious about its true ending. If you have any questions for volume 4 you can write them down here, I will answer your questions as best as i can. I'll edit this post if I've read volume 5. |

| I already expected ending like kimi no nawa. Chapter 12 farewell, and chapter 13 life. Something like that. Adding the illustration where they meet again. All in all, it's a happy end for them, even though it's a big hint just toward that way. It's a pity the author doesn't clearly state a clear ending. I'll be very appreciate it if you can spoil me in this post after you have the volume 5. Thank you very much. As for the little fingers ring, there's a saying that index finger for singles, middle finger for relationship with someone, ring finger is for marriage, little finger for a commitment to stay single. I've also googled it that ring in the little finger also means self-love. In this case, Sayu learned how to love and appreciate herself. She achieved the main goal of the story, |

I mean you could take it like she decide to stay single until she reunite with Yoshida. There's always a reason behind the commitment, it could be he/she can only love one person. There's a time skip, right? Some people might wondering if Sayu has a boyfriend during that time. Maybe this little finger ring things could relieve them somehow. But I think it's mostly about self-love. |

Epilogue: after 2 years Sayu and Yoshida met under the same lamp post where they both make a parody of their first meeting together lol (they both knew that it was an arranged suprise meeting by Asami) and they went to live together again (*note there’s no info regarding their relationship status, can’t state the obvious but it’s up to us to interpret) |

| And yeah, it's opening ending.... I asked my friend who was in Tokyo, He said that the HigeHiro ending was like in the rumors. Translate from google : "I'll say goodbye to Hokkaido once, Sayu confesses just before Yoshida gets on the plane! Yoshida says he's not interested in kid, but is it okay if Sayu isn't a kid? Sayu said goodbye to Yoshida, saying that Yoshida should think about it, but a few years later, Yoshida met again at the place where Yoshida picked up Sayu and it was over / end ! " |

" It still lack of informations. It's probably a simple summary for chapter 12 and few last sentences of epilogue. And if @tensura1704 says is true, then here's my impression. Maybe I should put spoiler tag just in case. I think we all know that Yoshida is starting to be attracted by Sayu. At some point, he also able to see her as an adult. The problem is she still underage and lack some life experience. That's why he rejected Sayu saying he's not interested with kids. Some people keep bitching about Sayu is underage, and loving 9 years older man is forbidden. When he says not interested with kids, it could interpreted as saying try to experience more things in life and try again when you're older. Having a relationship with her maybe limiting her growth as an adult. But Sayu isn't going to give up either, knowing he isn't clearly rejecting her like "I don't have any feelings for you no matter what age you are". That's why she's saying "are you going to accept me if I'm an adult?". Hence the time skip. It's a happy open ending. |

| I'm completely fine with this ending. Could've been a dumpster fire but the author played his cards safely. Sayu moved in with Yoshida when she was 17 and a half and stays there for I believe 6 months which means she's around 20 when they reunite. She's an adult by then and can make her own choices and if that's her and Yoshida's choice I'm fine with it. I wasn't interested in the Gotou ship anyways and Yoshida wasn't interested in the Kouhai (which was my pick) which leaves Sayu which I'm happy with Something I've learned with the internet is that nothing will satisfy everyone, so I'm sure some people will hate the ending, but I'm sure most people are fine with this 8/10 for the novel completed |

| I don't understand how you have the courage to cover sensitive topics yet cop out at the very end. I'm disappointed that the author didn't (explicitly) go through with what he clearly and intentionally built up on. |

| *sigh* Well, it could've been a lot worse. The way the anime's been going, I'd already mentally prepared for the ending to be something like this. But still. Sometimes, I really hate being right. |

| Came here for spoilers and the open ending just completely kills my drive to continue watching the anime and reading the LN. Like come on just tell me do they end up together or no? It just seems like the author just chickened out.so he did an open ending just to be safe from flak. |

| just finished the light novel version... it's really good, character change is really important, it looks like Asami who is now in college and writing a light novel, Gotou who is getting closer to Yoshida, and Kouhai who has her own project. Since Asami entered college, Asami often wrote light novels and Yoshida was often asked to read by Asami. Until one day, Asami called Yoshida to come to the apartment to tell Yoshida to read her light novel. Just before returning to the apartment, Yoshida passed the electric pole full of memories, Right over there was a 19 year old adult / mature girl sitting there, that girl smiled and said "Can I stay at your apartment, if you allow then you are free to do anything". They laughed and Yoshida allowed that girl to go to his apartment. Even though Yoshida said that the apartment is getting noisy now because there is a girl already there (Asami). Arriving at the apartment Sayu opened the door and said "I'm back / tadaima" End of Volume 5 ~ I still have the English translation file for Volume 5 and if you |

I cucked myself by being an only anime watcher here (2 days b4 anime ending) well but im kinda half glad that Yoshida doesn't end up with the boss or co-worker from you guys reviews Suprisingly, the thing is that I would want Yoshida to not end up with anyone of them regardless if its Sayu the boss or the annoying co worker. His job is done, go home start anew and actually think about how he actually feels before even pursuing a relationship... well from what I see the best course that can take place for anime is, show that Sayu and Yoshida think about it before making any moves or conclude with their relationship and have an extra season with like 1 episode to wrap things up and conclude the winner (after the time skip?) |

| I have mixed feelings about the ending myself. I only watched the anime and checked a bit of the novel. I have been reading the comments here, I must say that I agree with some about the open-ending. I personally would have wanted to know who'd marry Yoshida, but then, seeing the anime, especially the part when Yoshida was missing Sayu and the part when they met each other again made me happy, but I'm still empty inside, I still want to see more of Sayu and Yoshida, but I guess I'll have to face the reality that it's done and gone. Well done and well played if I say so myself. But damn! Open endings really suck, but not as bad as sad endings lol |
