| There's a discussion about characters you love that everyone else hates, who's a character you hate but everyone else loves? Guess I'll go first, Gurren Lagaan's Nia. I really hated her character when I first saw the show as a kid and as an adult I feel the same way *and* hate how creepy everyone is about her. ***EDIT*** I'm surprised at some of the common names popping up! These are some of the more common ones that I have seen majority anime community loved coming up here: Light Yagami from Death Note, Kamina from Gurren Lagann, Rem and subaru from re0, Levi from AOT, Naruto, Luffy, and Lelouch from Code Geass Characters that were once so loved definitely have their haters! | 1. Lelouch the Zero effort world saviour - His design look ugly and his intelligence feels very inconsistent , sometimes his decision annoyed me. Overall he sucks. 2. Levi Edgyman - Everyone know him , i don't need to say anything. 3. Luffy - I just can't endure this man. 4. Johan the Joker - People call him best villain of all time , but we never seen him doing those villainous things. Most of his actions are plot convenience. They call him master of manipulation like Joker from DC lmao ,but that man fucking manipulate 12 year kids lmao , a drunk old man and some pathetic villagers. Bruh, i can't take this seriously. He may be a well written character ,but not well written villain. All of them are overrated af. @Red543322 I tried to explain why I don't like him. Im not saying his character is bad , it's just i don't like him as villain. |

Haha I think I can understand not liking Lelouch, and honestly imo Luffy is way over rated. I was reading the manga and one of the last chapters I read he all of a sudden (with Zoro) decided fighting was not the answer and took a beating from these dudes in a bar, and it was just so.... fing stupid. | Probably Haruhi Suzumiya? It's kind of amazing how a god can be so insignificant in their own story, on top of just being an annoyance. I was also shocked to find out some people like Zenitsu. They are mad people, or already had their own brats and became immune to loud screaming. |

I like throwing out "Believe in the me that believes in you" to people because I found the line so funny, and very typical of the kind of dialogue that he would spit out. I found the story compelling, and I liked Kamina for his energy, but I liked the story more for having consequences to his lack of inaction because 'believing in someone' doesn't mean you should be an idiot. I with the show had continued to always be that consistent but you know, ups and downs. |

Anime was it's best 20000 years ago, when cavemen drew art with real depth. Modern anime is all garbage. I miss great old days of anime. |
| Gintoki ,Luffy ,Zoro ,Kamina ,Shirou Emiya ,Light Yagami, Shinji @light_straight From 9th episode TTGL was watchable for me . Every episode before that was a painful experience with Kamina on screen. |

A hated, discriminated, alienated, depressed orphan who has been treated like that by the people in his village, since his birth. Without any answers as to why he is treated like it. The reasoning is complicated to explain. Also people wanted to assassinate him too, but for THAT, he had protection. Being a attention starved child since his birth, without any parents or anyone to teach him anything really. He wasn't really knowledgable about stuff. He used to pull pranks to gain some kind of attention, negative as it is. To a child like him, that was enough. He wanted to kill himself multiple times obviously, a kid can't handle that. But he could adjust since there was atleast one or two people who would give him some care, rarely as it is. But it was enough for the kid. He also hated the people who treated him like that, but never tried anything. He had morals to follow. Ofcourse, the people just hated him even more. Masquerading himself in bright coloured clothes, and becoming a loudmouthed haopy kid, so even more attention would be given to him. Coping, behind a mask of happiness. He also couldn't buy or go into any establishments because poeple wouldn't let him. Which led to him being malnourished because he only got to eat one type of food item. From the only person who allowed him into their shop. Eventually it would lead to him going back to his home, which he got at the age of 5. Where he lived alone. He had expenses to survive barely. So financially he was average. The kid then wanted to become the biggest figuregead of the village, since that would mean people would be forced to acknowledge him and respect him atleast. Maybe a family too..? The child made his mind up. And you know, this shit continued on for the first 16 yrs of his life. The kid grew up, he gained responsibilities, his reasons for becoming the figurehead changed. He became smarter and more mature, while still being the simple person he is. Lost the shouting and the kid stuff. For being the friendship guy, he had only ever tried to be friends with two people, who were similar to him in situations. No one else. He also got over his self hatred he had for himself for existing, and for the others... yada yada "Shittiest annoying shonen protagonist" People love to hate on characters who went through hell I guess? Or maybe because it's "Naruto", the memed weeb community friendship shonen dude. Classic weebs |
