Let's say for example the Saki manga, this series have a lot of sexual scenes in it, such as girls not wearing any underwear, and such, you would think the mangaka, Kobayashi Ritz is male right? But Ritz is actually a woman.

There is a lot of moe mangas that were created by women too, such as Kiniro Mosaic and Hidamari Sketch.

Kiniro Mosaic is by Yui Hara, female mangaka

Hidamari Sketch is by Ume Aoki, also a female mangaka

How many of you are surprised about the fact that some of the mangakas for your favorite Manga series are actually women? Because I am not.

It is quite surprising, in the case of yuri and ecchi. I wish it was talked about more, the only women mangaka I really ever hear of are shoujo romance or a few shounen action.

But did you also know that most consumers of yuri/shoujo ai manga are women as well?

yes, as well as a lot of series in the seinen demographics, and Moe is in the Seinen category. These mangas are mostly all done by women, and there also some shounen mangas, where the creator is a woman too, like Fullmetal Alchemist.

I did know a lot of the things about women getting into yuri and shoujo ai stuff too. a lot of the female seiyuus are like that too. such as Kana Hanazawa, Ayane Sakura, Yukari Tamura, and maybe Rie Kugimiya, just to name some.

Not really on the topic, as I'm not surprised, as a lot of women like cute / hot female characters too, but Kobayashi's character designs are great, especially for Iwato Kasumi.

I really didn't understand what did you expect when you made this thread lol. Of course, it'll be females. It's their target audience so mostly the mangaka also has to have interest in that kinda thing right?

Do you have a reliable source for that? And no, having drawn a representation of themself as a female character in an obviously made-up "autobiography" is not a reliable source.

Kobayashi Ritz's gender always used to be very much a point of contention in the Saki fandom. Their website does not state their gender.

The Saki Wiki has a page about the writer, along with a short biography about her life.

The original biography (the bits written by the page's original creator) all comes from Ritz's website. Except the gender, which is never mentioned there.

Shigeo Hamashima, the artist for infamous VNs such as Euphoria is a woman. There's tons of women who create 'degenerate' stories/art.

Not in the ones on Ritz's website. Japanese doesn't even have such pronouns. The she/her stuff was added by the person who created the wiki page
