My Hero Academia Character Opinions/Character Tropes

I am almost finished with My Hero Academia at least the main series I haven't watched the movies yet but I generally find Izuku a little boring tbh. I mean he seems to be a standard Good Guy trope who tries his best and always comes out on top etc. I just don't find those characters interesting. My Hero Academia which is a great show I'm thoroughly enjoying it I give it a 9 at least seems to just have these types of characters at least on the hero side. To me Todoroki, Lida, Red Riot, and Uravity are the two most developed of the characters because we know more about their backstories but we never find out much about Bakugo (who seems to just be a dick because everyone said he had a great Quirk) Or any of the other Heroes. Oncce again haven't watched the movies for all I know that's what they are for but does anyone else find the Character Development a little lacking? Or not like the standard Good Guy Protagonist trope?

Also what would be some good Anime Recommendations that has lots of Character Devlopment?

I don't have a problem with characters who are underdogs and are the good guy. However, I never could get attached to Deku. I feel like he's too lacking in self-confidence and is overly anxious around other people. His character development is also kind of slow.

Don't have problems with any characters or with show.I also don't hate deku either.This show also has one of my favourite arcs and fights.Have rewatched the four seasons one time and I get the enjoyment from movies also as well from series.

deku literally got a second quirk in season 5 but if youre talking about his personality then i know what you mean yes his character development is indeed SLOW.. such an immature character

I haven't made it to season 5 as I stopped watching after season 2. So I never got to see him developing a second quirk. But yeah. His personality is also a factor as well.

Deku is boring and uninteresting as a protagonist, Todoroki has so little character development(he used to be my favorite for some time) and Bakugo is just annoying. As for the rest of the cast they're okay, but the author isn't doing well at making his characters more enjoyable and likeable for the viewer/reader

I love the show and arcs I think it's one of the best anime I have seen but I just don't care for Deku or the overall just sweet and innocent protagonists. I just find them boring or annoying in most cases. The only ones who fit that mold I like are Tanjiro from Demon Slayer, Mob, and Gon grew on me but with Mob and Gon they both had darker sides to them to balance them out a bit whereas Tanjiros empathy won me over. As with Bakugo I would like his character if he had more of a backstory explaining his attitude but it just seems he was praised too much as a kid for his quirk and he became an ass as a result.

Yea that is another thing he has not devloped much as a Character from the beginning especially when compared to say Todoroki or even Bakugo.

Frog girl is one of my favorites for some reason I can never remember her name though

I agree about the lack of Character Development in Todoroki but except for Deku he has had the most Character Development and Backstory which is kinda sad as I love Character driven stories.

hunter x hunter has transcendental character development. IMO all of mha's characters sucked. Todaroki and Lida got good development but after they went nowhere with it

Honestly I feel like the show is focused more on the male characters than the females, wish they had more character development even their quirks aren’t really that great they just fill the purpose of being there as side characters. Todoroki remain my favorite character of the show based on his quirk and dysfunctional family story background, as it made me feel empathetic towards him and connected on a personal level.

I agree with everything you said considering how many episodes they have had of the show I feel there was plenty of time to dive deep into Character development but alas so far it has not been the case unfortunately.

I agree by the time the first season of Hunter X Hunter was over we had more development than Mha has done in all its episodes and they later expanded on that very well with Gon, Kuripka, and Killua hoping we get some more Leeorio plotlines in the future.

Buddy, if you think Bakugou's character development is lacking, then you haven't payed much attention to the series. It's very clear and noticeable that he's slowly changing his personality and becoming less of an asshole throughout the series. The joint training arc and Bakugou vs Deku's 2nd Fight clearly highlights the change in Bakugou's personality.

I do not doubt the change in Bakugous personality and character I just feel his backstory is lacking in regards to why he was such an asshole in the first place. I mean it just appears that it was because everyone praised him so much as a kid.
