But Isekai + Harem + Ecchi will always sell no matter what inside japan just like causal mainstream movie audience will eat every shit dceu and mcu will throw at them at the end of the day money over everything
Edit - even non isekai magic academy or sword fighting academy + Harem + Ecchi is a good pack too
Music (Idol) + Shoujo (reverse harem) + romance is the unholy trinity.
100% of the shows that have this combination of subgenres, except for romance, just suck.
Imagine all of a sudden the industry stopped making Isekai, Harems, and Ecchi titles. It wouldn't surprise me in the least that not only would anime popularity drop dramatically but also the industry as a whole would suddenly be losing over three quarters of it's annual income. Harems in general have become a staple product for industry.
These titles allow male viewers to project themselves into the story and to sympathize usually with the protagonist. They explore the various problems and ways to express attraction. Of course, the stories use comedy to blunt the discomfort they may feel when a scene cuts too close to their own experiences.
You start eliminating such staple genres from this industry there would be a dramatic drop in support and fanfare in this industry in only a short matter of time with such a drastic reform.

i'd post properly into this thread myself but shit i need to go sleep, will come back later
All of the opinions here are purely ones expressed by myself so please respect my own and i'll respect yours.
Oh boy where do i even begin with this here?
The plots all of it is the same more or less. Guy often a neetaku, who's down on his luck gets ran over by truck kun or whatever kind of accide nt that gives the very little sembeleance of uniqueness and the male characters well obviously its self inserts from mangakas projecting their own insecurities onto the characters more often than not.
And the action well what action? its only a few minutes at most and a few seconds at least and also its really just the same thing really and you already know the mc is going to win on this.
The sol elements and also harem style well its the same kind of cheesy humor fanshots here and there and also abusive love interest type of comedy thats not only annoyingly repetitive but also just really super toxic af. Bonus points for a beach episode.
The love interests well they all are cut cardboards one dimensional with the only real thing noticable is how attractive they are and thats it. Always having to be saved by the mc one way or the other.
And also the mcs themselevs well yeah pushover doormats who don't really look that different from one another. And the stories yeah we all know the jrpg stuff in it and its also really just monster of the week type stuff.
And the titles are so retardely long like damn spirited away and magic knight rayearth and the cat returns and angel beats were simple and to the point.
Lets all save the world from corona-chan with the power of friendship and hell, while we're at it, lets all save the anime industry from itself since even with the amount of neetakus pandering to other neetakus and the anime industry is using this as a crutch lately.
How about we go use our neetaku parents allowance to purchase it on stuff like Bungo Stray Dogs merch or hell why not shojo anime merch and no i don't care if its going to make you less of a dude for liking it.
Godchild,Full Moon,Magic Knight Rayearth,XXXholic,X/1999.NANA,Sailor Moon,Cardcaptor Sakura,Bananafish,The Betrayal Knows My Name and well even BL thats mainly appealing to women are stuff i really like and i don't care at all if i get mocked for that. Because i wanna look at stuff i wanna look at it and buy otaku merch from series i wanna like such as Bungo Stray Dogs or Steins Gate for example.
That very same principle i also use for video games especially when it comes to JRPGs and visual novels.
And seriously, isekai, harem and ecchi all combined together is honestly just the most biggest nightmare and well if stuff like this is kept being overly relied on it, its going to make the anime industry fall apart more than it already is with the toxic af working environment.
So tldr
Isekai neetaku jrpg harem sol type anime is the bane of my existence. I may have missed some stuff but i only just woke up and just logged in.
Simply put, don't watch them if you don't enjoy them. It baffles me that not a lot of people do research about shows before watching them. There's tags for a reason.
They are enjoyable if you turn your brain off, but after finishing it, you'd say it was bad. it's like watching a Hentai you're enjoying, but post-nut clarity makes you rethink what the fuck you just watched
I'm not a fan of harems and Kill la Kill is like the only ecchi anime I actually liked I don't see a problem with isekai anime they are normally pretty good imo.
Well not all of them are piece of shit, but most of them really created a bag image for anime viewers, especially those based on light novel stories (though I'm quite interested :) )
It used to be alright, the problem is that all of the good Isekai harem ecchi works that can be adapted have already been done and only the garbage is left.

Don't talk shit on the Ben Cummins pfp.
Foolish behavior.
The who? I laughed reading your OP. I'm not making fun of anything.
Ben Cummins is an Australian rugby league Referee for the National Rugby League and has done so since 2006.
He made his National Rugby League debut in 2006 in a Cowboys-Panthers match in North Queensland.
In 2011 he controlled the City vs Country Origin match. Since then he has refereed matches in the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 State of Origin series. He also controlled the 2014 World Club Challenge.
His international appointments include the 2010 Rugby League Four Nations and 2014 Rugby League Four Nations and the 2013 and 2017 Rugby League World Cups.
In August 2017, he became the sixth referee to control 300 NRL matches.
During the 2019 NRL Grand Final, his controversial recalling of his 6 again ruling ultimately lost the Canberra Raiders the premiership.
On 29 July 2021, Cummins officiated his 400th NRL Match, becoming the first referee to do so, after earlier in the season surpassing Bill Harrigan's 18-year record of 393 games.
I kinda straight up forgot that this is that common of a combo because I just don't pay attention to what ecchi or harem anime is out there, usually. I don't care for it so I see no reason to.
