NGE or Devilman Crybaby? Which do you like more(or think is better)

Just wondering since I recently finished Eva. I'm partial to Devilman Crybaby because it's a little more clear cut and I enjoyed the buildup to the end more than Eva. However, I will admit that Eva has much better characters and therefore, a lot more to talk about and delve into. What do you all think?

Evangelion by far devil man didn’t have enough characters to care about cause it only had 10 episodes. Eva has 26 a movie and all the rebuilds it’s not close.

Devilman Crybaby is one of the better slept-on new gens but it’s no Eva, especially considering the End of Eva movie stomps.

NGE + EOE stomps DMC, I think both are great anime and DMC used to be in my top 10 but Eva my #2 anime👌🏽

I agreed with you on the characters but to me the eva ending just makes me think too hard vs devilman. I know people might hate me for my opinion but I hate open endings. If I want to use my imagination I will read a fan fiction.

Well I kinda expected most people to choose Eva seeing as this is an eva thead.
I think Evangelion is better. I like the simplistic art style of DMC but I still think Eva's better in general

Why not just enjoy both? They aren't trying to be the same things nor are they from the same era or creative/production team.

I guess Eva gets my vote though👍

i mean, some people may prefer DMCB but i think it's safe to say NGE and EOE are objectively better in almost every respect. but i don't think they're comparable either way, they're trying to achieve different things and have different themes

Personally I preferred Devilman. It's one of my favorites and was emotional for me. Yet NGE was kinda boring and didn't really make sense and make me feel something yk? But they're bith good animes!!

Devilman Crybaby was a huge surprise for me, even though it started weird i was pretty fast very into it and finished it in one night.
Nge was good too but I didn't liked the ending, but even with a good ending i would prefer devilman crybaby

i really disliked devilman crybaby. it's not well thought, the characters aren't consistent and the big plot twist just made me straight out hate it bc it took the only character i found interesting and just out of nowhere... well yeah everyone knows how that goes. im reading the manga devilman now and comparing to crybaby it's wayy better but i don't really know if i can compare that with nge since one of the big factors that make nge great is the cinematography and comparing it to a manga seems wierd. anyway, i'd say devilman crybaby has no chance to even come a tiny bit near evangelion.

But Evangelion and Crybaby are both anime that were inspired by the Devilman manga. It's an interesting comparison, though I do wonder how many would vote for the manga if it were an option.

If you liked both of these I highly recommend Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni. I feel you are into disturbing stories with lots of mind fuckery and an emotional element.
