In light novel community its genuinely regarded as a master piece .
In the original site where it was published, it ruled as the number 1 beating the critically acclaimed Re zero even after it ended .Only last year probably it got dethroned by slime
Why do you think a novel with no anime not even a popular manga adaptation ruled for so long.
Calling something a masterpiece is a personal opinion.
What do you mean by the term 'masterpiece' even?
I think naruto is a masterpiece even with its bullshit arcs because it was a part of my childhood and idc what anyone says.

What people do like to omit though is that on that very site where it was number 1, is the same site where stuff like Arifureta is also in the top ranking, it was even number 2 among ALL novels of all time on the site at times...Other notable things that are in the top ranking there is Death March, Kenja no Mago and Slave Harem in the Labyrinth of the Other World. So I'd take that ranking with a gigantic grain of salt.

Rankings like that simply measure popularity, and popularity does not always mean quality, it's just a measure of what series pleases the general audience the most regardless of whether it's actually well written or not so basically never take those rankings seriously, it's not even a score based measurement like MAL which gives it a bit more credit but instead it's like reddit with the upvotes.

Yes. Which is why I think it's disingenuous when so many people bring this ranking up. Especially the part about it beating "popular novels like Re:Zero" (they especially love that one). Cause they fail to bring up any context. Of course stuff with broader appeal like harems with OP MC are gonna be more popular and thus rank higher than something more niche like Re:Zero. It's as disingenuous as it would be me saying I've won every single athletic competition my school has ever held, and then I intentionally leave out the part where everyone besides me in my school is a paraplegic.

So who will define what the term 'masterpiece 'is. You ? God? who?
Well the novel is popular because a lot of people regard it as their masterpiece. If its the masterpiece of so many people then you may call it a masterpiece.
People even call sword art a masterpiece eventhough I personally dislike it .
You get the point.
No fool will read a novel he doesnt like

No, its not a masterpiece. I even tried to ignore the obvious problems with this show and focus on the plot. Even when I do that, its still bad. It makes no coherent sense to me and sometimes I can look past that if the anime is still enjoyable. Let me repeat this, when I say the plot makes ZERO sense as the story continues, it really...just...doesn’t. Maybe the anime has transitional issues that the manga or light novel doesn't have? I don't know. Other than that, the animation, world-building, and OST is beautiful. That's the only good thing I can say about the show.

Gigguk said it was a masterpiece but Gigguk likes whatever is popular enough to bring views to his videos.

But then again he took major risk making a video where he was praising Black clover when everyone were hating at that time.

The manga is still far from the peak of the series.

No, the anime and manga are far from masterpieces. Although the show stands out from the piles of heaping garbage of the oversaturated isekai genre, it's far from becoming a masterpiece imo.

If we're talking about the LN/WN, I would say that every volume past 12 is a solid 7-9/10.

More detail:

9/10: Volumes 14, end of 15, 16, 18, 23

8/10: Volumes 20.5, 17, 13

7/10: all the other volumes past 12

The first couple volumes have so much moral issues that ruined my experience.

tbf it's easier to like something that is unpopular than to dislike something that is popular. Also, Black Clover has it's core fanbase and for as long as I can remember they've praised the manga's gradual improvement.

I think the anime was good. I would consider the light novels to be a masterpiece though. They are simple enough to read and is also entertaining to me.

Unfortunately many of the volumes are sold out due to the popularity of the anime.
I like dub more than sub because I am not a weeb.

With what we've got so far, I gave it just a 7/10. It's good, it's above average on most levels, but we really haven't seen anything perticularly great just yet. I hesitated at first between a 7 or 8 but I settled with 7 when digging deeper in the main character's pedophile behaviour.

We'll see how the following seasons shape up. The series definitely has the building blocks for something great.

I love the manga, some wholesome moments in the manga were replaced with several risky scenes and statements in the anime. But the fact that this anime is spicy, works in its favour. In the manga I felt the story flowed better and characters were fleshed out more. In the anime I feel that they focus more on impact then substance and make up for lack of subsance with comedy. I think the manga is a masterpiece, as for the anime I think its on par with Re:Zero s1 , but not s2.
