The 12th and final episode of Tonikaku Kawaii (Tonikawa: Over the Moon For You) announced an original video anime at the end of its broadcast on Saturday. The original video anime will debut in 2021.

Synopsis
Nasa Yuzaki is determined to leave his name in the history books. Ranking first in the national mock exam and aiming for a distinguished high school, he is certain that he has his whole life mapped out. However, fate is a fickle mistress. On his way home one snowy evening, Nasa's eyes fall upon a peerless beauty across the street. Bewitched, Nasa tries to approach her—only to get blindsided by an oncoming truck.

Thankfully, his life is spared due to the girl's swift action. Bleeding by the side of an ambulance, he watches as the girl walks away under the moonlight—reminiscent of Princess Kaguya leaving for the moon. Refusing to let this chance meeting end, he forces his crippled body to chase after her and asks her out. Surprised by his foolhardiness and pure resolve, the girl accepts his confession under a single condition: they can only be together if he marries her! [Written by MAL Rewrite]

The anime series, directed by Hiroshi Ikehata (Mahoujin Guruguru (2017)) and composed by Kazuho Hyoudou (ReLIFE) at Seven Arcs, premiered on October 3. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles and subsequently began streaming dubbed versions in multiple languages, including English, German, French, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian.

Tonikaku Kawaii adapts Kenjirou Hata's romantic comedy manga, which he launched in Shounen Sunday in February 2018, approximately ten months after ending Hayate no Gotoku! (Hayate The Combat Butler) in the same magazine. Shogakukan shipped the 14th volume on Friday. The manga has a cumulative 2 million copies of its volumes in print.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English this February under the title Fly Me to the Moon and published the second volume on November 10. The third volume is scheduled for a January 12, 2021 release.

This is great news. I felt like something was missing the whole time or like there was actually a bigger plot we couldn’t see.

Although I hope for a S2 but I guess OVA is fine too i guess. Based on the manga, I am guessing a S2 is kinda hard as it requires more money and time to produce.

Im hopeful there is a season 2. There's plenty of source material and its crunchyroll so I'm guessing they have the budget to finance sa season 2. I just hope that this OVA is the same with Oresuki that is 1hr long.
