Good episode, Good episode. It wasn't so bad!

Congrats to Kobato for getting her first err.. "candy" or heart thingy. x3
I really felt bad for the kid. I'm pretty much glad that Kobato helped him out.
And what is with the Kobato hate comments? Whats wrong with Kobato?
I think shes okay, I mean she isn't so bad. Shes just new to the human world
and doesn't know much, so what? Give her a break. She's just learning. =.=

A bit too moe-ish, but I still kinda liked it. It could get boring after some time though if nothing new comes up.

I enjoyed this episode, sweet. I loved the moment when she got her first candy and how. Really amazing episode. And I'm starting to like Kobato a lot, I'm just as bad as her when it comes to dancing : D

Did she stand there in the park staring at the bottle the whole night? Besides that disturbing beginning, it was a mediocre episode. I almost feel like the show is going in the direction of Fujimoto being just like Kobato, but he lost his way, and her falling in love with him/his opening up to her will be what gets them their wishes. Only time will tell.

There doesn't seem to be much depth to the characters at the moment and I consider it to be slightly inferior to Letter Bee (the only other fall show I am watching until subs Kuchu Buranko and Aoi Bungaku come out). However, I have a soft spot for ditzy female leads, so I am not going to drop it just yet.

Kobato is the perfect person to heal people's hearts :D
And she's so cute,I wanna hug her to death xD I do see a plot coming, because she's not allowed to fall in love with the person she heals and Fujimoto x Kobato is really obvious. I think CLAMP know what they do^^
And Ioryogi-san is an awesome stuffed animal XD

For people who find Kobato annoying, well, that's what she is. The embodiment of innocence and good will.

For people who think this is retarded, please stop watching it because this is all the series has to offer (i.e. if you didn't like Aria, you won't enjoy this series) I can tell you this before you get bored. The Wish storyline, on the other hand, could be interesting.

I kind of disagree. There was panoramic beauty, and a more exploratory atmosphere of a fantastical setting based on reality in Aria that gave a sense of wonderment. That's not really what's going on in Kobato. She's in the real world by herself experiencing a culture shock that is otherwise very second nature to us as the viewer. Akari had common sense, and while a little ditzy, was knowledgeable and a vehicle to explore Neo Venice.

The plot is also worlds different. I think the only show worth comparing Aria to (that came out this year) off the top of my head is Ristorante Paradiso.

I wasn't comparing the two series series as a whole, just the pleasant feeling I get from watching them. Over analyzing much?

Should have considered editing in a quote if that was the case to avoid confusion. My apologies for the "defensive" post.

Doesn't change the fact that I feel you're over analyzing this a bit however. Sure, things such as culture shock do come into play, but I highly doubt CLAMP intentionally created the series with that in mind. Especially considering their market.

So far it's been a simple, innocent, and straight forward show. Reading into it so much only serves to defeat the entire point of it.

The same applies to Aria. If I was supposed to think while watching Aria I must have wasted 52 episodes worth of time.

lol.

No I agree. I'm not saying this is similar to Aria yet. I was just giving a reference to Aria, saying that viewers who did not enjoy Aria will enjoy this series even less.

About similarities, Kobato will make a lot of encounters and end up helping a lot of people. In that aspect, it's very similar to Aria. If they were the same, it would have been a ripoff, so I'm liking the direction Kobato is currently going.

And with CLAMP, everything is there for a reason.

@Xjellocross
I considered it, but I didn't think it was a big deal. My fault for misinterpreting the situation.

What am I overanalyzing? She said herself on the bridge that she didn't expect people to not want to be helped. She has no memories, and as such, no notion of how the real world works. She's used to talking stuffed animals and they're not supposed to talk here. That's culture shock.

Overanalyzing would be talking about how Kobato is a sardonic take on existentialism through an immature protagonist. I wasn't reaching for anything.

Well, I must say I disagree with your last thought. While I wasn't pondering moral dilemmas in Aria, I definitely did think about the development of the characters, the sprawling nature of the setting, and how misunderstood the show can be based off of the first few episodes.

@Wakka
I see that it's going to be about Kobato helping people, but the main difference is that Aria was always about Akari's self-discovery and growing into her own person. That's not what Kobato looks to be about to me. Sure she'll help people, but I don't think I'll feel a substantial difference in her character by the end of the show like I did with Aria.

Then again, this show could be continued for seasons to come, and change my mind.

I'm enjoying Kobato. Ioryogi is a slight bit annoying at times, but since Kobato is pretty clueless about how the human world works I guess she needs a drill seargent. I'm interested in her story and where she wishes to go.

Honestly, I get kinda annoyed by ditsy female protagonists, but the ending of this episode was pretty damn good.

I'm guessing as I watch this more that I will probably give this anime a lower rating than it deserves, simply because I get annoyed by Kobato's type of protagonist.

Kobato isn't doing it for me. Was pretty much yawning throughout the whole episode.

I just don't get this "feel good" euphoria that most people here seem to getting from Kobato...and what's with the Aria talk now?
