| Seriously just check op and see how many potential waifus are there ready to be spitted out every episode. It doesnt finish properly introducing one waifu and then it spits out another who is interested in mc. 3 episodes so far and 3 waifus. I always like to watch the 1st ep of new isekai animes cause usually it's interesting or interesting enough and then I watch the show ruin itself and burn in the next one or two episodes... This one is no exception... |

Both of those series are full of cute girls. Also, Re:Zero is dogshit. Maou-sama, Retry is also generic but at least it doesn't take itself too seriously. Never said they werent but only a limited number of girls were interested in mc and not a new one every episode also they did a damn better job at character developement. While re zero is no masterpiece it is better than this show for sure. Steins Gate is one of my favorite animes but it has nothing in comon with this anime I don't know why you would even mention that but then again claiming that I'm new to anime without checking my watched anime count I'm not even surprised tbh. In defense of this anime I will say that I did enjoy more that I should have. I did expect to drop it after 2-3 episodes but I actually managed to finish it. It's a mediocre isekai anime but I did manage to find something enjoyable in it, probably the MC helped a lot being a confident older male unlike that typical dumb as a brick mc that is somewhat of a standart in your average harem anime. |

In Steins Gate they were introduced as characters with actual stories and only some of them later develop romantic feeling for mc. In this particular anime they were introduced one after another every episode and at the end of the episode they instantly fall for mc. I don't know what routes are you talking about as I have not played the game and I know games tend to have more options for more replay value. I am talking about the anime and there are only two real choises for mc: Mayuri and Kurisu and they develop romantic feelings way later in the story and not after the first episode they were introduced. I guess there is also the cat girl but she barely gets any screen time to actually matter. Yeah waifu per episode isnt the only measurement of animes quality but its definitely one of them and let's face it this anime didn't have a particulary good story either, the score shows it perfectly although it did have a few moments here and there so I managed to finish without dropping it. |

If that was the case it would have ~8, average shows ave 7.something and if a score is 6 then a lot of people disliked the show. But to be fair this one wasn't as bad as I thought I guess the mature protagonist saved it for me. I have it a 7. |

Usually Average shows have a score of 7.something below average have 6 and if anime does something right it gets arround 8. Most users give an average show a 7 because that's average in their eyes, dunno why they do it, I used to do the same actually :) |

But you're right, the way people give scores are different. Some try being "objective" and others not. Some only use five numbers to grade their anime. It's a bit weird. Can't trust the MAL score I guess. I suppose my opinion was somewhat wrong regarding the statistics and related score. A score of 7 sounds about right for "average" show. |
