Ok Right now I'm currently watching Gintama (Silver Soul arc precisely) and I think It's better than FMA maybe? But here are my thoughts so far:

Gintama has a lot more creative and bolder in terms of storytelling but FMA is more tight and consistent.

Gintama has a lot more hype and greatness but FMA has a lot better quality.

They both have an amazing cast in terms of likeability, complexity, and personality, they both have really emotional moments and great music.

They both have their lot of highs and lows(Gintama has a lot more flaws IMO) so I'll think about It more when I finish Gintama. I love these shows so much. So what do you guys think?

I couldn't get into Gintama because I didn't find it funny. I gave FMA:B a 10 but the gags in it weren't funny either.

If we're factoring only prime or peak Gintama, then I find it better than FMA:B. If we're incorporating the more recent Gintama which has declined in quality quite noticeably, then FMA:B.

Gintama definitely for me.

FMA:B is a shorter series than Gintama(you can't have all 350 episode to be a god send of an episode), but if we're talking about the peak then its not even a discussion Gintama outright destroys. tbh, even the battle shounen aspect of GIntama alone delivers better than FMA:B.

the way i see it is Gintama has more lower lows, but has high highs. some of Gintama's highs like the character poll arc, Assassination Arc into Farewell Shinsengumi arc etc... are highs that i can't find any other show could reach.

Well, To compare this two anime is little bit unfair. Coz FMA:B aims at Kids and early to mid teens age groups while Gintama aims at Late teen to middle aged or even higher age groups. You have to think like mid teens to enjoy FMA:B while Underage can't understand the jokes of Gintama. For me It's obviously Gintama coz i have watch it at 20. And FMA & FMA:B, Hero Academia are all 6/10 shows Coz I didn't watch it at my right age.
Note: Kids (5-12), Early teen (13,14), mid teen (15,16 and 17).

I'm 30 and imo Gintama sucks and is just goofy rather than funny. It feels like a show made specifically for 12 year olds who just like mindless parodies. I agree with you that Boku no Hero Academia is a 6/10 though.

Gintama for me at everything.

Also FMAB had lows too, only the last like 15 eps were it's highs.
