| If you have read some manga and watched their anime adaptation, you will find that the manga chapters serve in fact as scripts, or storyboards. Then, how many manga chapters per episode, is a question one might ask. How many, would you say? I would say it depends on the format or genre, such as 4koma needing rhythm and romance needing more development, and a slower time. However I would say perhaps 1 or 2 chapters an episode? |

| There's no standard number. Some script magicians like the ones at toei have managed to produce episodes from as few as 5 pages. |

| Gauging it panel by panel would be more accurate, not like I know the average count anyway so yea..... On a scale of 1:1 adaptation, I'd say it's in the range of 40 pages more or less. Unless it's Toei doing the magic. |

One piece is the most popular example. They do it by either expanding existing scenes or adding new ones. There are some slow episodes but the majority are done really well. They've mastered the art of never catching up to the manga. |

| Three chapters per episode is the most usual. Toei made 8 episodes of One Piece from 2 chapters of the manga. |
| From few pages to 10 chapters, everthing was already done. I guess there are even some OVA's with only 1 or 2 episodes that are suppposed to be adaptations of entire series that have dozens of chapters. |
