| At some point, I'll talk about Babylonia in detail when the dust settles a bit and I rewatch it in its entirety in bluray to give a more comprehensive opinion of it, but for now, I'll say this. The show's highs are so high, even a blind person can see that (mostly hear it, at least until the Enuma Elish scene, then they'd be deaf too). Don't get me wrong, its lows leave a lot to be desired, especially how they royally fucked over Tiamat's characterization and the pacing of episodes 19 and 20, but... Despite how much they screwed with the finale, the show's overall highs are at the point I can't find it in me to care a lot about the lows. As a show, it's an 8.5/10, but as a narrative adaptation from a VN to an anime, it's a 6/10. All in all, I'll still give it 7.5/10 and round it to a low 8/10. It's truly once in a decade in this industry, if not more, to get a production such as Babylonia and it feels wrong just not to reward it for its sheer visual consistency, even if it's narratively not. @-Mahesvara @ShinsoPriest I find the silence in the Salter vs Herc fight to be way more impactful than Quetz screaming and Tiamat screaming back TBH. Not to mention, it's just easier to direct a basic scene like Quetz's. There's no emotion to take away from that fight other than the pretty lights and the hype explosions, as opposed to the HF fight where the take away is the feeling of absolute despair and hopelessness. It's the context that's precisely why the HF fight feels so much better IMHO. @ShinsoPriest >Babylonia has the best animated Ea of the bunch. Oh man, I disagree. Like a lot. The way it looked is very wrong. Ea isn't just a plain destructive beam. |

| Tbh between it throwing galaxies and being a DEATH BEAM that can engulf something as huge as 3rd form Beast II, I would take the DEATH BEAM every day. And the fgo game doesnt do something a lot different. Doesnt look like a wave, wall or a galaxy. Sure the anime could have use more colors than just red but it is still a beam. |

| Feels strangely...underwhelming to me. Doesn't feel as emotional as HFI's song nor does it go as hard as HFII's song. Maybe it'll sound better as a leitmotif in Yuki Kajiura's orchestrated tracks. |

Judging by this description, pretty much every rendition we had of Enuma Elish's attack looking like a swirling tornado is correct. This includes all of the games and anime it was used in so far. Currently, we only have one that looks nothing like that. Babylonia. As for my personal best, it's the one in Zero. I looks awesome and it's as accurate a representation to the one on the VN as it can get. Prisma Illya 2wei basically copied it to a T, so that's up there as well. CCC is so over the top and up there with EMIYA projecting Excalibur in the "yeah, ok guys" tier. I don't care for spectacle when it feels like pure nonsense. |
