Simply put, I prefer manga because of the amount of joy and lessons I've derived from them.
Same as anime, but manga resonates with me more.

Anime. Because it's not easy to get manga where I live in legal ways.

I prefer anime because I grew up watching anime in the 80s and Blu-rays don't take up as much space as manga volumes.

Manga simply for having a larger variety of stories. If there's a good anime, I'd prefer that over manga, but anime today cater way too much to the trend which makes it feel like everything that came out feels the same. Anime feels very commercialized today, made to promote the original source, no soul, rushed project, limited episodes, skipped content. How often have you heard manga/LN purists say that the studios skipped/skimmed over some parts just to get to the juicy part to sell the story?

I don't usually prefer one over the other, but there are isolated instances. For example, I do prefer the One Punch Man manga over the anime (regardless of the season). Then sometimes I prefer the anime over the manga.;;

The reasons I end up preferring one over the other is usually just that I like the original art from the manga or I just like the anime or only watched the anime.;;

Usually manga, but it depends. For the most part I've honestly preferred the MHA anime over the manga. I also have recently been like the AoT anime more. But when it comes to Black Clover, Naruto, or Berserk (okay that ones just stupidly obvious) I definitely prefer the manga. Oh and definitely Fist of the North Star too for manga, couldn't get into the anime at all.

Edit: Just realized it said why. As for why, well anime many times doesn't get the artist's beautiful artwork the same on the screen. Especially with longer running series that aren't split up into separate seasons. They get lazy and choppy and things don't turn out great. I haven't seen the episode yet, but huge disappointment of Noelle in the Resurrection arc (won't say what since it could be considered a spoiler). And then there's true disgraces like a lot of Dragon Ball Super.

I usually prefer the manga i find the art is way better most of the time and my favorite aspects in anime/manga have to be the art. But a well done anime can totally steal my attention.

I'm starting to prefer manga because it's faster and a great way to support the original creator.

If the anime is made well and complete I prefer anime. Good music and nice animations can often enhance a good story.

I prefer manga because I can more easily control reading speed than viewing speed and because manga is cheaper for authors than anime, therefore there is a better chance of creating a good product that is not made solely for money.

Although I have way more completed anime I still think that manga is generally better. Mainly because of the aforementioned wider variety of stories, it seems like manga just has more to offer. I mean how many great crossdressing comedy anime are out there? Also more often than not I prefer the original manga over an adaptation.

Depends on the art, I prefer the Hellsing manga to both the animes and the Berserk manga to ANY Berserk adaptation (who doesn't?)

A lot of the time the art in the manga is really beautifully drawn and looks a lot better than the anime, sometimes it's the other way around though.

Of course there are other reasons but whichever one looks better is my go-to :)

Manga for me. There is a lot more variety with manga than anime and I believe that the anime industry is too restrictive compared to manga. I also sometimes prefer to watch anime as many scenes in manga are kind of lacking with motion (as they are just pictures) and so to see fight scenes move like they were initially intended are great.

I prefer manga over anime because of my lifestyle, I am quite busy and can't really watch anime. So with manga it's easier but I also feel with manga I get more out of the plot and enjoy able to dissect the plot better.

I have a bad habit of binge-reading manga. Like, a lot. For me, the story oftentimes develops much better in the manga because it's portrayed exactly how the mangaka wanted. Other times, an anime has a completely different atmosphere in a totally good way, especially when it has a dope soundtrack. It usually depends on whether the anime is actually adapted well.

For the most part, I like manga more because you can pace yourself. There is a lot of variety and the art is great. Anime sometimes drags out and hard to obtain, depending on what you like. Also, you can get ahead of the anime when you read from the original source! Or if you can't watch it or don't have time to, reading the manga is a great way get the same enjoyment.

I watch anime and read manga but if I could watch the anime, then I probably won't read the manga. But I like watching better than reading for sure though, it's more engaging and fun for me

Manga because I am in control, more or less. I give the characters their own unique voices and reading with different inflections can give scenes different tones or means which makes the experience my own. It’s also the story proper. Most anime, as many have stated above, feel like soulless husks of the manga, commercially pumped out to make a buck then move on.

Both are equally great but i spend most of my time reading manga simply because it's a lot more diverse than anime since there are more manga than anime existing plus every anime is derived from a manga. also the plot and character development is alot smoother in manga.

If the anime is doing good (i.e attack on titan, boku no hero) then I won't bother with the manga. But If I see that the manga is better than the anime then I'll go with the manga (i.e Tokyo ghoul)

Depends on the series. Sometimes I like the anime art and animation over the manga.

But some manga I enjoyed but found the anime boring for some reason??

I love both honestly, and will often read/watch both when I can. If the anime is done very well and is finished though, I might only watch it since it feels like less work for me. But usually I find the art nicer in manga, and I like that I can control the pace that I read at, especially during emotional scenes.

I also like the BL genre a lot and most the ones that get anime adaptations are garbage, whereas there are some decent finds among manga.

I prefer anime because it's more fun. I'm not saying that manga is bad. In fact, I want to read. But in my country there are barely any manga shops and I can't be bothered to find and go to them. Reading online also feels dull. Anime #1.

Manga has more variety, better art majority of the time, certain tones are portrayed better that might not transition as well in anime and there's no risk of content getting cut or altered since it's the source material.

I'm starting to lean towards manga (picked up manga reading recently) even though I have been watching anime for several years. It's faster to read, and also include the full-story as compared to the anime counterpart for series which have only 1 or 2 seasons.

I prefer manga because I just don't find watching something as engaging as it used to be. I can also read more manga in the 20 minutes it takes to watch an anime episode.

Manga, variety and have more freedom than the anime. But I think a good anime is superior to a good manga because the fusion of the art, music, voice and animation take the story to another level.

I personally prefer manga because it is, in terms of nearly everything I've read, a much faster way to take in the same story. Although I guess that only applies to adaptations. Still, I can read more content in 22-24 minutes than a show presents in the same time (Most of the time)
