The cover of the magazine features the main character of a manga called “Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs” (ゆらぎ荘の幽奈さん) posing naked in an overtly sexual pose and with a sexualized expression.

Reminder: this magazine is for *children*

The magazine has been cleverly designed so that the blurred out nipples (with a cloud-like white-out) don’t show, except if you use a backlight you can *see* her nipples.

Which on the other side of the page are tapioca pearls.

“Genius,” according to the fans.

Japan sexualizes children and women to the point of sickness.

If this is appropriate for a *children’s magazine,* what do you think you’ll find in an adult one? No wonder men fantasize with rape and murder.

“But these are cartoons! These are not real women, you bitch!”
—definitely someone.

Yes. But they represent women. They carry the weight and expectation of real women like idols and singers and actresses. Don’t lie to me—to you they’re all the same.

so your thoughts on this? some twitter fans says Shonen Jump might get sued for this one like they did with To Love Ru and they designed this magazine cover to cleverly disguise or bypass censorship laws there

Tbh I agree...

Agree on how genius is this. In some jump manga, people are beaten to death, slashed to pieces etc. There are even worse "offenders" if we are talking about ecchi genre.

Just calm your tits random people on twitter

Sincerely,
Random people on MAL.

Well yes, that's one of the reasons why Japan tend to produce so many socially awkward people (especially men), they perceive the opposite sex as sex toys and don't know how to approach them in a normal way. This may not seem like a big problem but it actually is, because social relationships are never just about sex.

Reminder that the age demographic for a shonen series can be anywhere between 8 to 18, It's not a magazine for ''children'' as you highlighted.

Second, I'd much rather that children see thicc thighs and booty than mindless violence which is much worse... or SHOULD be considered much worse, but the west has no problem with showing decapitation to little children and having absolutely no issue with it.

Pointless thread. They don't represent real women, they represent anime characters since they behave in manners no real woman would, the events are so over the top to the point they could NEVER unfold in real life.

To Love Ru also used to be a Shonen Jump title. No one's getting sued, Twitter fans are dumb just like the entirety of twitter, taking offense when there is none.

ye that was mention by some twitter post too that Shonen Jump got into legal troubles because of that manga

found this also on TV Tropes
The fact the series continues to run in the face of intense pressure from the family values crowd, who have attempted (without success) to use the power of the state to shut it down speaks volumes of how much this trope is in effect. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Trivia/ToLoveRu

whats the name of the magazine?

"Kodomomuke" is for children.

"shounen" is for teenagers.

I searched the series on bakaupdates and its it says its categorized as shounen.

The person in the first link was raised in Barcelona. No business telling Japan what to do, or even being on twitter if you're so full of shit that you hide your tweets.

Its just nippers, nothing wrong with that and that was a pretty clever design on Shounen jumps part. You can only see the nips if you are going out of your way to see them, anybody who tries to see nips will see nips since the internet exists.

Everybody on Twitter tries to be the next leader of whatever petty moral crusade they think will give them their 15 minutes, it becomes a race to the bottom to get the most offended.

Anime/manga is ecchi more often than not, if you can't live with that don't expect the medium to change for your taste.

BTW @deg thats a blatantly clickbaity title, have some pride.

Usually thread titles should give the potential reader an idea of it's contents, the previous title "Is shounen jump doing porn?" or whatever was an exaggeration of this story in order to garner more interest/outrage, much like most online news media does to get clicks for ad revenue.
