What's your guilty pleasure anime, how do you think people will react if they found out?

I can't say exactly a guilty pleasure, but usually the ones that make me cry, or/and the super sadistic ones with killing and blood and screams and scary scenes and suicide and torturing and death in general. And that's not only with anime, but with everything, anime, manga, webtoons, dramas, movies, anything.

I don't understand. Does this mean an anime that I enjoyed but shouldn't have? If that is the case then I would say I watched Miru Tights just because of the memes but ended up really pleased with the different ways that they showed off the tights. Really didn't like the foot fetish thing though. I will never like feet in that way.

I have no guilty pleasures. I like what I like.

Isn't guilty pleasure basically "I like it but I'll be shamed if I admit to it directly"? I've none. All shows I liked I'm happy to admit are enjoyable shit. I don't have that kind of insecurity,

I also realized this trend of MAL users being less opinionated in the past. Pretty much no one from the posts in 2011 actually argued that the term itself is stupid and dismisses certain kinds of enjoyments for arbitrary reasons. I wouldn't browse here if the users were like that now.

Maybe it's an indication that anime is a more accepted medium/art form these days. Or that shows from the 2000's are just trash.

I'll go with the former, though.

My initial response was to say something like Fairy Tail or SAO, as they're popular anime that it's unpopular to admit to liking. But that doesn't really mean that they fit the definition of a "guilty pleasure" anime.

After thinking about which anime I like would meet the criteria of a "guilty pleasure" (a badly written or poorly animated/executed show that nonetheless is something that you like for whatever reason), I suppose that my "guilty pleasure" choices would be:

Eromanga Sensei (I expect this is a common choice)
Hangyakusei Million Arthur
Queen's Blade: Rurou no Senshi

These shows have very little in the way of a defined story and are more a glorified display of hot and sexy women in all their illustrious beauty, which makes the fact that I completed them somewhat an embarrassment, resulting in my picking them for my "guilty pleasure" anime choice. That's not true for Eromanga Sensei, but it's subject matter, that of a young girl who won't leave her room, yet draws sexually explicit material for a manga, is definitely somewhat questionable.

I don't believe in "guilty pleasure" anime, or any entertainment for that matter. I like what I like. If I started feeling "guilty" about watching certain anime, then I'd have to stop watching anime altogether, because a lot of "normies" think you're a degenerate pervert and even a potential sex offender because you like anime. Of course I won't go around telling everyone every anime I watch, but not because I feel guilty about watching them, but because not everyone needs to know everything. I talk about anime only with people who understand the medium, not every person who cares to (or not) listen.

K-ON and To Love-Ru.

There is nothing to be ashamed of loving K-ON! That show is cute as a button and the movie is also great.

I don't have any guilty pleasure shows when it comes to anime. I generally do not care what people think of my taste in music, movie and shows. The great thing about the great amount of VOD is that it caters towards all kinds of tastes. it was different when people only watched shows on the telly and the number of channels was manageable. Nowadays it is much harder to have water cooler conversations about a certain show and in the case of anime, the chances are nill. So why should it be a guilty pleasure?
