I've been putting off reading Food Wars, only because the manga is yet to be finished, even though it's been on my list for a while, and I've been really looking forward to reading it. I get that by the time I'm even half way through, it will probably finish the whole series, but I've always preferred reading stuff that has ended. What do you think I should do?

The manga has ended. The final three chapters will be released in GIGA.

Also, don't bother if you have time for something else. Absolute abysmal ending to the manga. The last one third of the manga (well over 100 chapters) are so bad it made me wish I never started reading it.

The central arc is worth to read but everything after that is really awful where you will wish it didn't exist.

It's decent/good until 130 chapters, after that it goes a massive downhill in quality. Not worth reading it I think.

GIGA is a sister magazine of WSJ and has irregular release spans. Can be a month or half a year with an average of once per 3 months. The chapters in GIGA range from 30+ to 100+ pages/chapter. Meaning a single chapter can be worth between 2 and 6 normal chapters published in WSJ. So, the 3 chapters mentioned in GIGA can be equivalent of 6 to 18 chapters of WSJ average chapters (unless the number of pages is specified).

I put it on hold at 213 chapters, why do people think manga went downhill? (No spoilers please).

Let's see without spoiling anything after the arc you are on ends (at chap 263) the cooking starts jumping the shark with dishes that are just not possible in real life, a terrible, annoying villain is introduced, a character completely forgets their character development and things you have been waiting to happen just don't(unless the 3 bonus chapters coming out in jump giga somehow resolves these things but that's pretty up in the air)

It's just bad story, nothing else. It is very different than the previous tone, the story telling, and the ending is disappointing and lackluster. It is not because of waifu wars or any other bullshits like that, its just bad.

To be honest I don't think that the 3 remaining chapters will have more than 40 pages especially if the first of them has only 28 considering the color pages. Also has already been announced that the 36th volume will be the last and if you do a little math the pages necessary to fill the last volume(192-210 pages) is around 80 pages(4 wsj chapters).
Obviously there may be exceptions like gintama(360 pages) or Tokyo ghoul(15 chapters in one volume) but I don't think this manga will receive the same treatment.
The same Assassination classroom had to do an extra volume of extras because it had gone over 60 pages from those needed (192-210 pages).
Anyway, I think you know more about it than I do, so I want to ask you if is possible what i said.

@Blaze35: I certainly don't know more than anyone on the matter. But SnS won't get the same treatment of Gintama. Gintama is adored by WSJ. It lived through political pressure as well unlike anythink I know from WSJ. That shows how it is cherished. We hear a lot about sales and popularity but hardly of how much something is actually loved by people who are involved.

It is true that gintama sales have fallen over time but people love it anyway.
Hell, just look at the announcement of the new season 171k likes, 100k retweets and 4.4 million views if it doesn't say how much its well appreciated I don't know what else it is.
For the SnS question At this point my question isnt very important as I dont think that in the remaining 2 chapters they can repair the story.

The short answer is no,
The author made a mess in the last arc.
I like to post in manga forum when I feel it is worth it, so people will think. "Shit, is her again" or something.

People asked me where I read certain thing but the rules say no telling where did you read so maybe I am too boring for not saying? Or salty because you didn't check my profile that says don't ask because I hate people to ghost me after that. I love learning languages so maybe I did not read the manga in English.

If you're fine with an incredibly rushed ending, then by all means, start it. I found the manga enjoyable as a whole
