| Changing that guy's identity from some henchman to the "dark part of Kaiba's soul" in the dub made the experience more mysterious, albeit a little confusing for where we are now. Maybe romantic as well? The "shadow realm" and "shadow powers" too, they just add that little something. I didn't remember just how rich Kaiba was but lord, an entire secret base? A super computer? Hacking skills?? Hello batman. |

Lots of things I would have considered cheating in this episode. Mystical Elf is a cute card though. To be clear, that wasn't "Kaiba's dark half" originally. 4Kids made that part up; in the original version he was just an impersonator who posed as Kaiba. If you're watching the 4Kids dub of the series, I should warn you that it basically makes up its own canon. |
