Ooh boi, there are plenty of openings I like.. but um, let's see if I can narrow it down to the top five. No way I'm gonna be able to put them in any specific order though.. Oh, and I'm mostly gonna focus on the music here, just so you know.
1. lull ~Soshite Bokura wa~ by Ray | Nagi no Asukara
An absolute masterpiece in my opinion. I love the relaxing feel it has. It also gives off the impression that the music is coming from underwater, which fits the show perfectly. Half of the reason NagiAsu is on my Plan to Watch list.
2. katharsis by TK from Ling tosite sigure | Tokyo Ghoul:re (s2)
One of my favourite musical artists. Period. His voice just sends chills down my spine. The chorus of this opening alone does more justice to the franchise than the entirety of the :re anime could ever hope to do.
3. Ring my Bell by Blue Drops | Sora no Otoshimono
Being one of my first ecchi anime, the opening fills me to the brim with nostalgia. The chorus sounds absolutely fantastic and every frame of Ikaros in this op looks fantastic, be it in a cute, funny, sexy or cool way.
4. Hacking to the Gate by Itou Kanako | Steins;Gate
Initially, I had no idea why this opening was so popular. It pains to admit, but I used to find this song really boring. Through osu!, however, I've grown to appreciate this song and love how the song picks up the pace at a rather late point compared to most others. I also think the abstract imagery in the op is very interesting.
5. Koyoi mofumofu!! by Senko and Shiro's CVs | Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san
A newcomer to my favourites and an absolutely adorable song. I'm a total sucker for anything adorable, need I say more?
6. Megumeru by eufonius | Clannad
Welp, there goes the attempt at making this list a top five, but I just can't leave Megumeru out. This opening is another one of those that makes me feel incredibly nostalgic. And happy. And a bunch of other emotions. I like this opening to the point that I've memorized the entirety of the TV size lyrics.
So yeah, there you go. My favourite anime openings. |
