You should watch every comedy anime in existence and if you don't like any, just switch to different Japanese medium. Comedy anime don't represent Japanese humour alone.

A sitcom laugh track feels more like a gentle suggestion when compared with the way in which the Japanese usually handle their 'comedy' in a lot of their media:

-suddently super deformed characters
-simple background, usually a 'quirky' wallpaper pattern like strawberries or some shit
-loud, obnoxious cartoon sound effects
-obnoxious goofy/'comical'-sounding music
-characters gurn, squeal and overreact in a manner that no one though to be humanly possible until now
-the actual 'joke' being the overreaction itself, the sheer fact that the scene is presented in such a goofy and over-the-top manner (BRIGHT COLOURS LOUD NOISES GOOFY WACKY WAFFLE JINGLE KEYS LAUGH LIKE THE PAVLOVIAN BABY THAT YOU ARE), or simply pointing out a faux pas/malaproprism/incongruity for the purposes of social correction, because even the simplest joke or goof should never be left to be judged on its own merits.

And it's presented and told in the exact same way, every single goddamned time.

It's like how an android would tell a joke. Since they are only capable of understanding the concept of humor on such a surface, intellectual level, they instead try to overcompensate for their lack of skill and experience by simply employing as many of the superficial 'trappings' of comedy as they can in order to increase their chances of generating a single laugh.

"Funny noises? Check. Funny faces? Check. Funny sounds? Check. Exaggeration? Check. Explaining the joke? Check. By my calculations, you should be rolling around on the floor by now."

It's so insultingly contrived and artificial. You may as well simply pause the entire work, look directly at the audience and say "Here is joke. Now is the designated time in which you are permitted to laugh. Please do so in an orderly and appropriate manner. After the allotted time has ceased, you may quietly return to your previous state of unamusement. Thank you."

Translation: "It's bad because I don't like it."

Well, humor is subjective, especially humor that's not even aimed at you because it comes from a different culture.

i think it its true, i mean i'm half japanese and grew up in japan but born outside. i sometimes watch stand up comedy on youtube and i found it funny. but, did you guys really think anyone could understand american or any other country jokes? no, because there are cultural difference here. even most of my friend don't feel jokes from my birthplace are funny because the culture are different from each other (even if it is still in asia). but sometimes there are comedy anime that even non japanese people find it funny. if you can''t get the jokes from a certain anime, it doesn't mean that anime is shit it just you don't understand japanese culture.

i think it would be a neat idea if we got a bunch of western comedians to make an anime like Kevin hart and Amy schumer

then it is not japanese anime anymore, and i don't think it will be popular in japan since i don't think most of japanese people (me included since i don't quite get western jokes (well im asian anyway)) will get the jokes.

Well, aside from the dumb anime tropes, most humor in anime is based around the Manzai traditional style with a straight man (tsukkomi) and funny man (boke) duo. You'll recognize this. Some character does something overly stupid, then another character makes a sarcastic quip about him, often along the lines of "That's not it! (chief)" A lot of times it's MC in his inner monologue being the straight man making fun of his dumb ass classmates.

This kind of humor can work in some key moments, but usually it's overplayed, to me. The jokes have all been done ad infinitum, it's just cliche slapstick after years of watching anime.

Thankfully, there are some good comedies with more subtle humor, like Daily Lives of High School Boys, Saiki Kusuo, Kaguya-sama, Detroit Metal City, and in my opinion, shows like HenSemi and Katte ni Kaizou have their moments, even though they're rated pretty low. (People just don't get the weird stuff.)

In my experience, I dont find funny things or people that tries to be funny, in fact the really funny things happen when people arent tryin to be funny so...

Anyways Spanish is the only language that can really be funny cause the language itself is ridiculous, it has too many tools to be funny.

Humour is subjective. You can literally take any subject and simplify and ridicule it the way you did.

I had to drop Osumatsu San yesterday thanks to the lackluster comedy and I consider myself very open to a lot of different types of humor. It was pretty lame, though a few of the skits were alright.

Why is Amerimutt """comedy""" so bad? Is a presentation of ORANGE MAN BAD ad infinitum the gold standard of comedy that other examples of comedy lost in translation is objectively shit?

No offense but if the shit on your profile is what you consider funny, you may just have a terrible sense of humor.
