The medicine seller stories that begin in the final arc of Ayakashi Samurai Horror Tales and continue on in the series Mononoke. It's easy to find Mononoke since it streams at Crunchyroll and is available on DVD. But I strongly recommend tracking down the "Bake Neko" arc of Ayakashi first.

Tweeny Witches

Tweeny Witches ("Mahou Shoujotai Arusu") is gorgeous. Here's the original trailer. Arusu ("Alice") falls off a roof holding a magical book and into a magical world. While Arusu wants magic to be used for good, she soon discovers others want to use it for darker purposes.

Another unusual magical-girl show is Fuujin Monogatari ("Windy Tales") where girls and cats learn to manipulate the wind.

I missed that you listed Mononoke in your OP. Sorry. I'll suggest anything by Nakamura Kenji then, the director of the medicine seller shows. Besides Mononoke, I liked Tsuritama, Gatchaman Crowds, and Kuuchuu Buranko. He likes to use a wide palette of colors, even in a single scene. Here's the OP for Tsuritama. The bright palette with strong primary colors reflects the show's setting, on the coast of the island Enoshima. Mononoke's palette is equally colorful, but the colors are more muted befitting the more sombre material.
