| The Numbers are as follows: 1) Solo 2) Duet 3) Trio 4) Quartet 5) Quintet 6) Sextet 7) Septet 8) Octet 9) Nonet 10) Decet 11) Undecet 12) Duodecet 13) Tredecet As Skennes posted, those Prefixes arose from Latin. The first three are also used figuratively, so they're much more common in Use. "Pentagon" and "Hexagon" are btw. from Ancient Greece and mean "5 Corners" and "6 Corners", respectively. "Square" is related to "Quadruple". |
