No, as far as I recall no such thing happened. A few things were cut out or perhaps "mellowed down" a bit, but I don't remember anything being outright changed.

Season 3 will be better than Season 1. Unless they screw it up. Though the general impression can vary depending on whether they adapt 7-8-9 or 7-9-10, because vol. 8 has more Enri, Nemu, Nfirea, village people, goblin people, Nazarick maids and some Ainz and contains events that get followed up in vol. 9, while vol. 10 has quite a lot of Ainz and follows up on a "plotthread" that's been involving events in vol. 2 and vol. 7.

Regardless, vol. 9 will definitly be animated, so that's the most important.

See the thing is, only volume 9 is good anime material. Volume 8 is past arc filler, and volume 7 is an edge that has been folded over 1000 times to produce unparalleled sharpness. Not only that but it's about as irrelevant as a whole as the Overlizard arc in volume 4. And the thing is volume 9 is such a high quality place to finish the series and just be done with it, while volume 10 is full of foreshadows of stuff the LNs haven't even gotten around to yet. Honestly I was surprised they didn't go for cutting volumes 4 and 8, having vol 7 just be 1 episode (or less) without much depth, and just going for 5-6-9 in season 2 and never coming back to the series. It would've been a far more enjoyable show to watch as a standalone media. Sure fanboys would be riled about how the LNs were more fleshed out etc, but it would've actually appealed to people who don't think mediocre drawn out light novel bullshit is acceptable in the anime scene.

I wouldn't hype it too much. The main selling point of this series is brutality, once you get used to it there isn't much behind it. I started reading LN around the middle of anime S2 and caught up with translation and frankly got a little bored of it already. Plot conveniences get out of hand to the point of MC being pretty much just stupidly lucky and way too good at bullshiting his way out.

In short, it's a good time waster but don't expect much for your own good.

Oh wow, your post puts the whole series in a completely different light. How could I miss that detail. But you have to admit that it just shows how intricately woven the narrative is. It takes a brilliant but humble mind to fathom it, but genius to explain it in just one sentence. Can you share some more of your brilliant insights you fucking cretin?

Yes, of course. Everything about Overlord is a masterpiece.
You only have to gain by watching all the Overlord seasons, reading both the web and the light novel, and also reading the manga. If you're truly pursuing culture and enlightenment, then your best choice is to invest your time into Overlord.

Well, I hope you enjoy it then.
Considering that, just like me, you never dropped any anime, according to your dropped list, it would be quite sad if Overlord turned out to be your first experience doing it.

I never drop animes because I think everyone deserves a chance , so I watch every anime till the end but then I give them a weak score and do not any seasons after.
Have a good day
My spoiler skills are weak :(

Yeah, that's also what I do too.
Glad to know that you will at least watch the whole first season and not follow thepath's advice.

It can fit in 5 episodes. Hardly, but doable. Anyway, its better this way than split Paladins in the Holy Kingdom, current story stop is quite embarrasing.
There is a way to do 2 volumes per season, cause they become better and thicker as time goes...

No it can't. You have the visit then the two MASSIVE battles each with events building up to them. there's no way you can do it in 5

After season 2 end I believe they can do that, by cutting all dialogues with the nobles and their inner thoughts.
Though, it'll look rushed as hell.

Nope also I mispoke. There's TWO visits. One to the Emperor and one to Nazarick. Plus the preamble building up to the katze plains. There's no way you can do all that PLUS the village part in just 5 episodes.

I agree with you on the point, it's quate event-packed time period.
Lets hope it'll get more screentime.

overlord as an anime is indeed one of the best ones out there as a mid range quality though when it's looked at as a mirror to its source material, it's kind of originalized in the sense that there is a change from here to there like when Entoma vasillisa zeta line of killing evileye in the web novel was changed to mere silence in the anime though that's what an adaptation is and a shonen one that may upset some web novel fans

Will we still be able to watch the 3rd season once it comes out this year with the FCC repealing the rules of net neutrality soon? This has me worried because if this goes through, we'll have to pay for everything on the Internet which I find to be ridiculous.

Well the second season came out after a long time I think they wanna hype it up so what happened to season 2 does not happen to season 3. Waiting for the next season of anime for 3 years is quiet long (not that its not common sometiems) and I rather not wait.

Feels like they are wrapping it up with a new season so close to the previous one.

And what is up with these posts about the content being mature, and worried about it being cut from the anime. What exactly are we talking about here? I have not read it but I would like to know, no need to worry about spoilers.

This is the best part, the more edgy the better. But if you can't handle it, well, just drop already. :)

Summer and fall 2018 will be great for isekai adaptions, waiting for Goblin Slayer, Slime and Maou ones too. <3
