You need to ensure you have a 10-bit capable monitor before you worry about the video player, otherwise its pointless, just like all those YT comparison 8-bit v 10-bit videos, since YT compresses them to view in 8-bit anyway. Which there aren't many that are decent under $300, most are between $400-$650 for 10-bit monitors.

Well instead of being a jackass and suggesting you don't have a monitor that could support it (uhhh): MPC-HC+madVR with the settings maxed out.

I wasn't being a jackass, only 5-7% of people have monitors that support 10-bit, and its mostly used in industry - such as CAD/CAM occupations.

At no point was I condescending, its a common misconception.

There's really not much of a point in making the difference known. 10-bit h264 has always been a placebo tier encode, but if OP is one of the 5-7% it's better to just assume he is asking for that information because he wants to use his hardware properly. He didn't give you any information to assume that he has a monitor for it, nor that he doesn't have one.

I wouldn't have said anything, but you didn't even help the guy, you just kinda sat there and condescended to him, acting like it's not useful for him to be able to play that format. Even if OP didn't have one, what about people who wind up here from Google?

That may have been your perception of it, but I was not condescending.
