| The real reason why Caesar was so adamant about killing Kars as soon as possible was to avenge his father who left him without a word so they won't have to get dragged into the very long and deadly fight against the Pillar Men. Mario didn't recognize his son but he saved someone he didn't know at the cost of his life in the end. |

| Interestingly, the profile page for Caesar earlier in the manga suggested that he didn't have a criminal record, yet here we learned that he was were known and feared even in the underworld, committing nearly every crime excluding murder. I guess he never got caught! Overall, this was nice, it gave more depth to his family pride rather than just leaving it as a personality trait itself. Further, just as Will went on a mission because of his father’s death, Caesar is doing the exact same thing. The life of Caesar gave me Ace vibes from One Piece, however, with how old Jojo is, I should say that Ace gives me Caesar vibes. His father tried to continue Will’s mission and even found the Pillar Men before the nazis. Caesar became a hardened criminal, refusing to even acknowledge his family name and picking fights left and right. The fact that Mario was once an “incarnation of the ideal man” to Caesar probably crushed him all the more to be left behind, to let hatred fester as he planned to kill his own father. Yet when following him, Caesar realized that his hatred was based on misunderstanding, the abandoning of Caesar was for his own safety, and in a moment of not even recognizing his son, Mario gave his life to save a random kid. That must have sold to him beyond everything else that he was in fact that ideal man he thought he was to begin with. The shift from hatred to admiration makes sense and it fuels his motivation and his family pride. In a way, by following his father and training under Lisa Lisa to destroy the Pillar Men, it could be seen as him atoning for being the cause of his father's death, and obviously to take Cars down will avenge him. The story was enough to move Joseph into prioritizing Caesar over Sun Tzu which is sweet in itself. Lastly, Caesar was shown to have what looked like four siblings! I wonder if they’ll come up again, and they looked to all be sisters which may suggest why Caesar is so good around ladies. He’d know them well. |
