So, Treehouse apparently translated "Moe" as "blushy-crushy" in Xenoblade 2.........

Damn. And right after people praised them for undoing their localization changes in Splatoon 2.

It's Nintendo Europe that translated it. I've looked at some of the context of the scene, and moe could have easily been understood as some sexual way women can control men just as much as this.
Cringy translation decisions are to be expected in japanes games. The only way to avoid it is learning japanese.

I can see you

It's time to abolish the Nintendo Nannyhouse.

Fair enough.

They also left the women's breasts big. I loves me some big bazoonka zonks.

I mean, it makes sense. A lot of people probably don't know what moe even means.

This. I played a TON of JRPGs and other Japanese games before I ever had a clue what "moe" meant. Given that this is likely to reach a MUCH larger audience than just the otaku/anime community, it makes total sense.

Chill out, localization police.
Important Note: I no longer - in any way, shape, or form - consider myself a moral nihilist (even in my old, convoluted definition of the term). I very much do believe there is such a thing as objective good and evil. In addition, I apologize for any of the posts I've made that are rude, aggressive, or otherwise unbecoming.

I've always striven to walk a path befitting a follower of Christ, and now recognize some of my old comments here as misguided if not outright wrong. If you happen upon them, pray do not let them darken your view of the God I serve. He is kind, even if I, at times, have not been.

"Blushy-crushy" is the dumbest and the funniest thing I've ever heard.
"No, son, you may not have your body pillow at the dinner table!"

Both sound silly but moe has the foreign cool vibe to it

Pretty much a staple in the series.
