The Sanctuary OVA also fits the bill but it's definitely not for everyone.
If you're going to limit yourself to just series, Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex gets fairly political. Also notice you haven't seen Berserk 98. Primary focus isn't on politics but there is a fair amount mostly involving Griffith. It's worth watching anyway.

Hanasakeru Seishounen, also has political themes, has better pacing than Saiunkoku.
Tarotist said:The majority of Gundam anime are centered around politics. Gundam Wing, Turn A Gundam, and Iron-Blooded Orphans have some political themes in them. Turn A is great, but I recommend watching another Gundam first. Iron-Blooded Orphans can be a good start.
Otherwise, if Mecha isn't to your liking, the 1st season of Log Horizon is very Politics-heavy.

The closest you find is Military and Police tags. the big question is always what do you consider as poitical and where you draw the line. Politics is often part of the plot but more often plays a too minor part or is something that would have to be discussed by the viewers to reveal.
ghost in the shell SAC (My Recommendation Nr1 you could probably watch the whole franchise though)
Psychopass 2 (inner dynamics of an imperfect system that has to change)
Heavy Object (Military relations strongly present even if not the main focus, a world where nuclear bombs were made irrelevant; the topic is pretty actual imo)
Then there are many shows with political aspects of various degree
Adonah Zero (clash of a highly technology low resoruce system with its conter part)
Gosick, Katanagatari (political intrigues)
Log Horizon (too slow progression and not always a clear focus but you see a political system building in an online game)
economics in Spice and Wolf (a lot), Maoyuu Maou Yuusha (leaves it open though and do not discuss it enough, basicaly that is the viewers job to do)
And probably many shows where there is a political idea/issue/situation in the main plot but is totally neglected/ its the viewers job to discuss.
