(Spoilers) So a few months ago (late 2016) I finished Toradora! and got a recommendation
to watch school days, I expected it to be sweet...boy was I wrong, Call me a pussy
if you want but and the end of school days I was crying like a bitch when Sekai
stabbed Itou and cried even more when Katsura killed Sekai, I know Itou made some mistakes but he's only human and I don't believe a high school
student who has never committed a crime deserves to die for that, I didn't think any of them deserved to die but that's just me. What are your thoughts?

Well, whether or not they deserved to die, that's how the story played out. I'm sure a number of viewers would have helped out in murdering the cast, but was it justified? To be honest, thinking about it, I've never really thought about that before. I've always accepted that ending as an inevitability, built upon by the constant mental and physical torment everyone was undergoing, whether or not they were conscious of the fact. Perhaps some manner of adult or friend intervention might have helped? It's hard to say, as that starts to bring in real life logic and reason, which somewhat plays counter to the anime's take on the stereotypical shounen harem romcom plot the anime seems to try and mess with.

To try to answer your question at least, it probably wasn't justified, as I dislike the killing of characters in general, but that's on me. For the story itself, I would think that whether or not it was justified, the characters had it coming, especially with regards to when the baby thing. Goodness that was a terrible decision built upon terrible decisions, resulting in one heck of a nice boat.

Hmm maybe not death but a good beating would do. Though really this is the norm with tragedies. Situations spiral out of control and the next thing you know yandere chan is going ape shit on a bitch for touching her man.

Though I was very shook about SD's ending I understand it was inevitable, it also gives the show it's sense of identity but I sometimes still think to myself "how could something that began so sweet end so badly"
but yeah, every individual character made the worst decisions on their part, and I'm
glad school days made me sad with it's ending, it just shows how damn good the writers did on their part.

Ha, you know I remember seeing Sekai cooking and Itou sitting on the
couch awkwardly and I thought "Is she about to go Yandere on his ass" playfully,
man was I fucking right.

Makoto was awful but I don't think he deserved to die in that way. I never sympathized with him throughout the series especially when he started cheating on Katsura and then started playing around with all the other girls. Saying that, Sekai was to blame as well. Well, if she didn't offer to practice with him, none of this would have happened, right? It's true that Katsura was too shy and awkward but that doesn't mean that Sekai should step in and give a hand especially in that way.

Anyway, the whole thing was a big mess, so I think it wouldn't make sense for such series to end on a happy note.

wow who recommends School Days because of toradora. Thats just dirty. Watch Mirai Nikki next. Dont worry about the cast ..

To be really honest I knew it had the yandere ending and I only watched school days because its always listed as the first yandere anime. But since it took 12 eps to happen I forgot about it and felt the ending a bit over the top. Okay the one thing that shocked even me with a "WTF face" was when kotonoha cut sekais belly open to see if shes actually pregnant. like wtf.

Go play the VN! It has 21 endings, of which 5 are bad ones, which is not the majority, as many people wouldn't know.
I think I read in one interview with the director, they just wanted to try many different endings for the story, and (un)fortunately they picked out a fusion of all the bad ones to be The Animation end. I think they executed it very well, though, hehe.

No, seriously, play the VN! The dark sides are strong in this one, too, of course, but the majority of the game is pretty fun, if one is old / strong enough to see the sex scenes, that is. My favorites are 'To My Children' (bad one) and 'With Honesty'. (Sekai end)

There are also several spin-offs, but to date only Shiny Days is translated, which is basically School Days at the beach filler episode - fun.
