| I've seen some out of control BOTDF fans. I don't really think one specific fan base is the worst though. You can't generalize a fanbase or a group of individuals. I absolutely love Radiohead don't really see the fans acting extremely smug and elitist. Maybe I just don't pay attention. |

| Eminem seriously, I respect him because he's a legend but his Stans who unfortunately make up a large portion of his fanbase usually say ignorant and cliche statements and what's more annoying is that they don't even listen to Hip Hop to make these statements valid. |

Also, if we talk about books JK Rowling, John Green and all those Twilight, Divergent, Hunger Games fanbases are cancer. |

Mainly really young ones who think that they're so much better than everyone else for what they listen to, and whine about how "Music is shit nowadays" and they "Wish music was still like this today!" I legitimately can't think of anything that gets on my nerves more than people like that. |

| The first thing that came to my head was Radiohead as well for the same reasons you said, the only song I can somewhat stand from them is the first half of "Paraded Android" because it was used as the credits song in Ergo Proxy so I got used to hearing it. Justin Bieber's fans were extremely annoying back in the early 2010's because they all acted like he was amazing when his music was beyond irritating back then (I don't find his new stuff that great either but it doesn't make me want to cover my ears). I also remember when One Direction and The Jonas Brothers were extremely popular, I disliked them for the same reasons I disliked Bieber, their music was annoying and it was really popular so it was hard to avoid and the fan bases were even worst. |

| This depends on everyone personal experience with fanbases really.. I get that fans of 'darker' music can come off as somewhat intimidating though ಠ_ಠ ... personally though, I've been part of an animu community where a lot of the other members constantly talked about rap and how oh so badass those rappers are.. Personally though, I dislike the majority of rap music and being surrounded by people who talked about barely anything else kind of made me dislike the fanbase ¬_¬ |

| This may be a strange answer but there are many artists that have the fanbase i hate, so all i can tell you is what kind of fanbase i hate. I hate the fanbases that don't seem to be there for the music, and if you look at the comment sections you can tell. Bands like one direction where they are there just bcuz the band members are hot to nicki minaj where they just talk about drama between artists, who she dating, and her butt. Now obviously some ppl are always there for the music, but when most comments or the majority isn't then it's bad. |

| I have little contact with the contemporary popular music scene, so I can't comment on the relative tendency of today's fan bases to make nuisances out of themselves. My exposure is typically limited to the annual spectacle of the Eurovision Song Contest. Eurovision fans seem to be at least somewhat annoying, but I don't know how they compare to other contemporary fan bases. Annoying fan bases are nothing new. I can come up with some historical examples. In the 1930s, certain male singers attracted that most annoying type of fan - the squeeing fangirl. Rudy Vallee, Russ Columbo, and Bing Crosby were especially popular, and otherwise sane women went completely nuts in their presence. The nuisance level of this fan base was well known enough to be satirized in cartoons of the time. Incidentally, I love these singers, and had I been around in the 1930s, I would have been right there squeeing along with all the other fangirls. By the 1940s, Russ Columbo was dead, and Rudy Vallee had faded, while Bing Crosby was still going strong. Then, Frank Sinatra came along and the fangirls went completely nuts again. His fan base during that decade may well have been one of the most annoying ever, if the satires in contemporary cartoons are to be believed. Over time, the furor gradually faded, but then came Elvis Presley in the 1950s, and a new generation was caught up in a similar mania. My mother was an Elvis freak back then, and by all accounts, she was far too passionate in her appreciation for this singer. In the 1980s, I had the misfortune to experience an annoying fan base in junior high school. There was a huge rivalry between fans of hard rock/heavy metal and fans of new wave music. The new wave people were fairly low key and were noticeable mainly because of their unusual fashion sense but were typically not annoying. The hard rock and heavy metal fans, on the other hand, could be rather in-your-face about their passion, and they delighted in scrawling graffiti all over the school, especially on the desks. I became annoyed with Iron Maiden fans because they were the worst offenders; I got tired of seeing Iron Maiden logos inexpertly scrawled on desks everywhere. |

| Metal as a whole, really. Metal fans (not all, but a good portion) believe that metal is the apex of music, and constantly shit on every other genre, especially stuff like pop and techno. Then, you have a subset of metal elitists that I call the old-school elitists. These people are even worse than normal metal elitists because they think that metal from the 70s, 80s, and 90s are better than modern metal. Don't get me wrong, I listen to a LOT of metal, pretty much everything from Metallica to Slipknot, but I cannot stand metal elitists. |
