It's simply storyline driven rather than gameplay driven. The ending crap is especially true for Higurashi. Also, what about games like Utawarerumono, where half the game plays like a visual novel, and the other half is a tactical RPG? (Speaking of which I forgot to mention this, it also has an english translation!) Oh yes and Chaos Head is translated too. But I don't know much about that one. |

It uses THEMES heavily prevalent to anime. Seeing as how Mecha, and Ninjas come from I dunno, fucking JAPAN! It having realistic and gritty graphics has nothing to do with it being anime. There are tons of art styles within the spectrum that is anime. Are you saying things like Sanctuary isn't manga because it's art style is gritty and realistic?
