| lol, i don't think manta is too annoying but sometimes he is in the way, like he gets kidnap as a hostage for yoh during the fight with faust VIII and with the X-laws and stuff so for most of the series, he didn't do anything except be a burden. but i also found lyserg to be annoying, when everyone was having fun, i felt that he was there to dampen the mood cuz he's always like "how are we going to defeat hao?". and the fact that he would switch from yoh to the x-laws to yoh was annoying |

| I think it's more along the lines of him being Yoh's slap-in-the-face to Hao. Still, a glove would have probably worked just as well. |

| As long as he doesn't make little Mantas all over the world, I'm good. Yes, I want to slap him a couple times for being in the anime, for making rude gestures, for being annoying, for being so weirdly small, and for being Yoh's best friend. Yoh can do and deserves better! |
| One of my friends actually loves Manta. Every time I begin talking about Shaman King, she asks, "Is that the one with that really short kid?" And when I tell her yes, she always replies, "I love that guy!" But in all honesty, she hasn't seen the series for more than an episode, so I don't think she really understands his purpose other than the fact that he is cute. On the other hand, he is mostly there as the narrator from what I have seen, so I can tell as to why he would be important...but I never necessarily liked him. He was good for a friend to Yoh, and that was nice, but otherwise he was just kind of this cowardly thing that seemed to hold Yoh back. If I were there...I would tell him to shove off, but then I would feel bad because he would probably get sad...so if I could slap him...I would instantly feel regret and hug him. D: Though the thought of doing so has crossed my mind from time to time :DD |

| im at ep 17 and god hes fucking annoying hes constantly in the way, is a naive little pipsqueak, useless, and generally just fucking awful.. its not just that he looks like garbage, his entire character is just pissing me off he has such an obnoxious personality, its not that hard to write good characters remember the first time he saw spirits? who the hell would tell randoms that they saw spirits.. like, how can you be so dumb to not know that people pretty much wont believe in this crap or when he continued to insult amidamaru even though yoh literally said hes not a bad guy based on the feeling he got when they merged on the other hand im happy yoh told him to fuck off.. even tho it was just meant to avoid harming him :') i cant believe how much this little piece of shit is pissing me off, i hope he just dies anna is also annoying with how much she constrantly demands without doing jackshit, but at least she hates manta |

| At the beginning I thought he would be one of those characters that would be useless in a fight but would provide Yoh with information about the spirits since he's always reading. But no. He's just plain useless. |
