| Most of the time I don't actually sit and count 5 secs. Sometimes I hit search again and it is too early. That's 10+ seconds I could spend on something else instead of staring at my monitor with frustration. I would not post this here if it did not bug me for past year. |

The problem is that, as @Syrup- mentioned above, someone could purposefully (or accidentally, I guess) implement something that overloads the server by searching too much. Searching is a relatively expensive operation. |

| My life span is small too. As Syrup- said. It is to prevent the site from getting overloaded. Even this "5 seconds" have it's important reason behind. |
